I was walking though a field full of mud. The mud was wet and really gooey. I was so happy when my group reached a fence and went through it on to rock.
“Wow!” A long wire hung from the top of a cliff down over a cow pasture and right to where we where standing. A man told us to go over the rocks, follow a path, then go through some tall grass and up a muddy slippery hill. When we got up to the top of the hill we where standing on a cliff. It was my turn!!!!! A man attached me on to a rope and pulled me to the end of the cliff. ‘Click’ I was hooked on the wire and in three seconds… He pushed me!!!! I held on tight but then let go, it was so fun. I was soaring through the sky over the cows. ‘Boing’ I hit the ending and put my legs down fast to keep me still. It was so fun I did it three more times!
This week, I learned about first aid. First we played a game where we went to where we felt was the thing we would do in a problem. For example, Click Here. We looked at videos and learned what to do for a specific problem. We also thought what we would do if someone in front of us collapsed in different scenarios. Last, we acted out problems.
This is an important topic in my life because if there was a problem we would know what to do. Also, we cold teach other people what to do. Then, we would have less problems around the world. I can make thoughtful choices by telling other people and spreading the word also by thinking first before I help.
Scenario: You come home from school with your little brother (Grade 1) and find a note from your mom saying she will be home at 6 PM, and you need to care for your brother till then. You are both hungry and your mom has asked you to make or buy a healthy snack.
I could make a Fruit salad. It would be healthy because it dose not have salt and it it is high on vitamin A. It also has vitamin C and vitamin B6. It has a little iron too.
I could buy some beans. It would be healthy because beans are high on iron and have vitamin C and B6. It has a lot of Magnesium and calcium.
This week we learned about nutrition with Ms. Rayle and Mr. Brian. We learned about how fruits and vegetables have changed over time, school lunches around the world, the categories of food and how to read a label on a food packet.
It is an important topic for my life because I need to know how to keep my self healthy and what to eat and not to eat incase it is not healthy for me. I can make thoughtful choices by reading the labels on the food to see if it is healthy and by making a plan of when I can give my self a little treat.
Scenario: You are at a friend’s house for a sleepover. This is a really popular student and it is the first time he has invited you to his place. Once his parents are asleep your friend suggests that you both sneak to the liquor cabinet to try some alcohol his parents have stored.
Solution: Say ” No! I am only 10 ten and alcohol can make me sick.”
Alcohols Effects On Kids
Kids might hurt themselves. If you drink too much you might throw up and could wake up the next day feeling awful.
If kids drink too much alcohol it could lead to alcohol poisoning. The liver, which removes poisons from the blood, could get hurt.
For two days we learned about Peer Pressure in class with Mr. Awesome. We played a game that we have to dicide what to say when someone Peer Pressures you. Peer Pressure means when someone wants you to do something. For example, Click Here
This is animportant topic in my life because if we don’t learn about it we might get stuck and won’t know what to do. Also, we might get Peer Pressured and end up doing what the person told us to do. To make thoughtful choices in my everyday life I could think before answering if someone is Peer Pressuring me and don’t try to Peer Pressure anyone else.
Hello everybody today I want to talk about a visitor coming to our class. The visiter was Brian a real captain of a modern ship named the Pacific Orca. He works for the company Swire. He told us all about the ships he worked on. His longest time on a boat was 5 months! He instals wind turbines in the middle of the ocean to get electricity the cities at shore. His boat jacks up on legs in the air so they can instal the wind turbines.
His first ship he sailed on when he was a deck hand.
Hello everybody today I will tell you about my classes explorers unit. In the unit we act like we are on a real boat called the SSIS Langdon. Ms. Chris is our captain and we are the sailers. Today the captain moved me up to the boatswain and I gave the orders the captain gave me. I told them to stow the barrels in the hold, repair the sails, Scrub the deck and other things. I have a lot of fun doing it. I cant wait to fined out what we are going to do next on our trip to India! We also built boats that come from our explorers boats.
Today I will tell you all about our cucumbers and our i-Books. It took a long time to grow our cucumbers. It was about 6 weeks! For the cucumbers to grow they have to go around the plant life cycle first they germinate then sprout. After that, they become adult plants and flower. To create new cucumbers the seeds animal disperse to a new home. When the cucumbers where finished we ate them all up. The most best part was when the flowers turned into fruit. Because, the flowers swelled up and died then the fruit continued to grow.
In this unit we learned how to code. Coding is computer language. It is like you wright something on the computer and it dose it. It is like instructions. For example, Gates to go in and out. when you put your card in reads it and lets you in. There are scanners on the sides so no one can sneak in behind you.
In school we learned how to code. To code we went to a site named Scratch. On that site you can code games. I coded one called Super Dog! To code it I had to use blokes to make a sequence.
