IB Art Buddy

We had IB art buddies. My buddy’s name was Thanh. We ask our high school buddies questions about art.

I asked these questions:

Q: How does it feel like to be a artist?

A: Still doesn’t feel real to me that I’m an artist yet.

Q: What is your favorite piece of art you did?

A: I don’t have one.

Here is my favorite painting from my IB buddy:

G4 talk reflection

Q: What did it feel like when you came off the stage yesterday after you finished?

A: I felt exited after the G4 talk. I almost cried tears of happiness after the G4 talk!

Q: What do you think is the biggest thing you learned from this project?

A: I learned that positive choices lead to greater independence!

Here is my G4 talk:

Back To School

Hello everyone!

We have started the year with our unit, Independent Me.
So far, an important fact I learned was too much sugar is very very very bad for your body.
The most interesting activity was discecting a pig’s heart.
I had a problematic time with drawing a diagram of a heart.
I would still like to learn about the other body systems.
I think it’s important for me to learn about body systems so we can be prepared for discecting in middle school.
One thing I like about this is the discecting.
I am very proud of myself because I took lots of notes.
I really like this super unit so far!

Thanks for reading! I hope you have a good day!

Topic: Figurative language

This unit we were really focusing on figurative language. We were focusing on hyperbole, personification, idiom, simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia and alliteration. I like to say onomatopoeia a lot because it sounds weird. I think alliteration is the hardest figurative language because I’d have to think of the same letter to start each word. My favorite kind of figurative language is idiom because I have to figure out what it means.

Topic: Nature Tales

This week was fun. We had a crazy week. We had our new unit launch, and it was also crazy because Andrew built a super tall tower with base 10 blocks. It was taller than anyone in the class! (Including teachers) We also got our first nature walk. We also saw a dead owl. It was a barn owl. It was dead because it thought the window was an open space so it bumped its head in the window. Poor thing.
