Book Talk Reflection

One of the book I chose for the book talk reflection was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The reason I chose this was I first heard that Harry Potter was a fun book to read so I read it. The plot kind of looks interesting. It’s about a guy called Dobby trying to stop Harry from going to Hogwarts, which is the wizard’s school. When Harry ignores, there were people being petrified all around the school. Then Harry finds the Chamber of Secrets by the clue written in the wall in blood. He found the young Voldemort that appeared on his diary 50 years ago. Then he defeats by Fawks the Phoenix, who is the headmaster of Hogwarts, Dumbledore’s pet. He got an award and named as a hero who saved Hogwarts in danger. The character includes Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Dobby and young Voldemort. In the end, always the good guys wins. Harry didn’t have happiness when he was born because his parents died by Voldemort. But his happiness grew in Hogwarts’ life. He became happy after defeating Voldemort forever.

Team Seven

For the team building game in our advisory group, we did Amoeba Scavenger Hunt, Paper Town and Cross the River. My favourite activity was Cross the River because it was better to do brain games than physically going around the school and being tired. I learnt about our classmates’ names and about their minds about our teams. I also knew their personality and their leadership. I learnt myself how to cooperate each other. Even though I’m new, I fit with my advisory group. I knew that to be collaborated each other, I could give a good idea to them or I should listen to people and admit.

Analysing the Parables

Parables Characters Plot Moral Lesson
Parable of the Lost Sheep tax collectors, sinners, Pharisees, scribes, There are bad people who did very wrong things to Jesus. The sheep was lost and then the children came and found it. Don’t be the bad sinners like tax collectors or anyone else.
Parable of the Dinner Party slave master, three house guest citizens Three of the guest say about their excuses and tried to stay into the house. Don’t treat people on their personalities and the abilities they have.
Parable of the Good Samaritan Two religious leaders, guy who was robbed, Samaritan Guy gets robbed, some leaders ignore him, but then a Samaritan helps him. Help others even if you don’t have a lot.
Parable of the Two Builders Jesus, wise man Jesus sending his words to make people’s lives better. He goes around the urban and help people. Do not be foolish but understand.
Parable of the Lost Son Father, 2 sons, One of the son was lost and he was found at the last. The father thought his son was dead but he was alive. Don’t tell the truth without any evidence.

The Story Parable and the Two Builders was interesting and entertaining. Jesus said, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.  The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” The two builder that Jesus represent was the wise and the foolish man. The wise man built the house with rocks but the foolish man had to built with sand. It was interesting that people who hear Mine get wiser and people who say Mine is being foolish. I think that it’s because never to say mine on anything. The whole world is ruled by god. So Jesus is trying to say never to be the sinners like Romans.

The reason that ‘Parable and the Two Builders’ exist is because there are people around the world who are well mannered and arrogant. In the end, Jesus is trying to say never to be arrogant or they will be foolish. The people who are well mannered get wiser at the end. Never to be foolish but understand people. The main plot of this parable is the 2 characters. Their action teach people how to live better or will end very harshly.

2 Ball Rule

First juggling is easy if you know how to do it well. With one ball, throw up and catch with another hand. If you threw to right hand, you should catch with the left hand. With 2 balls you get one balls each in the hand. You throw left or right first then threw the other one. Catch the first one you threw and catch the second one same on the other side. With three balls, you throw the ball that has more. It has the same rule of 2 balls and if you are done with it, you can try four, five and so on.

I liked this unit about juggling because first of all, I already know how to catch and throw small balls. So it was easy to juggle even with 3 balls because I know the basics. It also develop the skills using small balls; master one ball (throwing and catching) then 2 balls.

History Maker Award

History Maker Award

The history maker who should get the History Maker Award is Isaac Newton because he was able to find out some mysteries in the universe. Isaac Newton found out about gravity that there is gravity in where we are and there is no gravity in space. In earth any places, gravity exist and there is an acceleration that the object falling to the ground and the speed is going faster as the place that an object was in the very high place. His big discovery about gravity helped people because the unknown world we hadn’t discovered yet was the underground sea and the universe. So he found out a lot of things about the universe that was a really unknown world. Even not those things, he found more discoveries about science. He made colours using the prism of reflection. Also, he discovered acceleration and got the equation of it. He was a good physics science of finding about physical mysteries but I think this was his greatest discovery was even there was a disability of finding the mystery of the universe, he worked hard and found the gravity.
