A Changing World – Why should we care?

africa_poverty-383x480

“We need the help the world, make it a better place.” I am always hearing people say that and I think: “Why? Why should we care anyways?” If you aren’t one of the people in need, then why should we care? I had decided that I didn’t care. I would live my life, and whatever happens to the world, i wouldn’t care. This was my opinion in August, before my 9th grade year had begun.

We do need to care. What is going now is still going to affect us. We have to care because in the end, its all we have. What about your children? If the world is continuously rotting away, what will be left of it for the future? What about your grandchildren? There may not be a world left for them to live in. Imagine the difference if every single person in the world, tried to help make our world sanitary and wealthy. No one litters, no one creates unnecessary waste and filth does not drown the earth. What a difference the simple matter of not littering would make. It’s not hard. It’s not complicated. Anyone can do it, even the poorest of the people and even the richest. We all have to help. People living with lower standards may not have luxuries and privileges but they can still help. People who are of a very high class can still help. In fact, they can help more than anybody. The richest people and companies of this world can help this world more than anybody can. They can because the enough power and influence on people’s actions.

Promises are being made all over the world. Presidents saying “END POVERTY.”( http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2009-10/13/content_12222261.htm)  Is anything really happening? I can’t help but ask. If nothing is being done, then let’s start. Turn words into actions.

In the end, you should care because it affects you if not for any other reason. It affects me because it affects the future generation. Shouldn’t your children or grandchildren have the privilege to live in a safe and sanitary world? We have to care because the decisions that are made today, are helping or destroying, the next generation; which would be your children or grandchildren. This is not one of the matters where you can fail and say: “Oh well, I’ll do it right the next time.” There will be no next time.

  1. Really motivating post. Although you might want to proof-read it because there are a few mistakes and sentences that don’t make sense.Other than that really good. By the way that picture is really depressing.

  3. This is a very powerful blog and I agree with you. If we all work together we could make the world a better, and healthier place. Great job!
