Kissen Schlägerei heute Nacht
This book really is a unique book and I have never read anything like this before. Anyone who has read this book would agree that it is really something extraordinary and hilarious. All throughout the book, Douglas Adams uses his great sense of humor even at sad moment where the Earth was being destroyed. The theme of this book is space travel. It follows the adventure of Arthur Dent, an earthling who’s planet gets blown up. It introduces an idea of the answer to the universe, and talks about people, or mice, in search for the question after knowing this matter. This subject is treated as a minor theme in the book, but I think it will expand on this idea more in the books to follow.
The ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ uses a lot of imagery because since this book is set in outerspace, people reading this book will have no way of picturing the images created in the book unless the author gives a vivid description. Hence, Adams uses imagery and does a great job in depicting life in the galaxy with great detail.
I learned a few neat little things from this book. One, always carry a towel if you are a hitchhiker, it is the single most useful thing you could carry. If you can keep you towel with you, you are a good hitchiker. Two, drinking a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brain smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick. Lastly, according to the Guide, Earth is “mostly harmless”.
