Year End Reflection

Throughout the year, I’ve been enjoying making few projects using computers. I had so much fun with Mr. Appino, but next year I will be missing those fun activities since I’m leaving. We had projects that has to do with Scratch and Photo Story. I think that Photo Story project was the funniest one, because we had to make a story or a song that I decided to do. I recorded myself while I was singing, but it’s kind of embarrassing. The hardest project that i had to do was Scratch, because we had to make a story with it, but it has to have many tasks for each character.

I can transfer my good typing skills to use it for Writing class or LA. I enjoy my time in ICT, but the free time should be a little bit longer for others to play. In free times, we can use Facebook, games, Youtube, and etc. I learned so many things from ICT class, but in my mind i don’t know what else should learn about.

Year End Reflection

I have had many experiences in ICT 7, both good and bad. I have had to program an animation, create “photostory” slideshows, amongst many other things. I have learned how to  embed pictures and videos into blog posts and how to hyper link text. I have also learned about many types of new technology, such as Google’s Nexus One, Apple’s iPad, and Microsoft’s Courier.

My favorite project was most definitely my Photo Story slideshow. This is the only project in which I feel I was on a level footing with all the other people in the class, and I feel that I did very well on that project, despite the fact that I lost half of my photo attributions. The most challenging project, for me, was the Scratch animation.

The  most challenging project (for me) was the Scratch Animation project. I’ve mentioned this in a previous post, but I will say it again: I had no idea what I was doing. I had to constantly ask my neighbors for help, and I think that I did not do myself justice. I believe that I could have made my movements much more smooth. On top of all this, I had to be content with making the stickman in my video glide along the floor instead of walk, like they were supposed to.

The knowledge that I gained in this class can be used in many other situations. One of the absolutely crucial pieces of information I found out about computers was the fact that you could copy, paste, and cut text and images with a simple keystroke. This has helped make finding images for things like title pages much faster, as right-clicking and selecting paste often made the computer lag for no fathomable reason.

If I could change one thing about ICT 7, I would change the program we use to animate from Scratch to another, simpler to use program called Pivot. Pivot makes animating things extremely easy, even if the only thing you can animate are stickmen. Other than that, however, I think that ICT 7 was an amazing experience, as other schools I’ve been to did not focus half as much on computers as I did this semester.

I would have liked to learn about more types of animations, including things like video games, 3- Dimensional movies, and holograms. I think that it would be a very fun-to-learn-about topic. I think that it would be very easy for me to positively jump into the topic, because it makes me smile when I learn. That doesn’t happen every day!

At around this time, during the end of  the school year, we have had many classes, one particular one being ICT7. During ICT, we had made many posts; our first one being about an article on the New York Times. Wereflected on this, and created a post named Future Technology. This reflected on how technology has been advancing over the years, and how it could be a dreadful thought, or a contentful thought. A few classes later, we read a post about one man who viewed the movie, Avatar, in three different formats. Based on this, he reflected on what he had experienced. This post we created was based on how people “take their Avatar.”

Afterward, we had some time off. Then a few days later, we reflected on Twitter, as one of the world’s most interesting live-feed, news, search tools! It was such an interesting experience, and I saw many posts that involved the topic I searched up. It was very interesting.

Later on, we created a Scratch project, a Scratch presentation, that involved walking, and flying stickmen. We created those, and reflected on them later on. The reflection was about how we felt when we were creating the presentations.

For one of our last projects, we made something using the program, Photostory. This “something” was a presentation where we used photos that involved mood to create a story that would express what we were feeling, or what we might be feeling. The pictures, we added music to, so that the project would also have an “expression” of its own. We turned them into YouTube videos, and reflected on them later on.

We had a lot of blog posts this year, and we also had a lot of works that I liked doing. I had a wonderful time in ICT, I wish I would be having it again in 8th grade, but I am leaving this year. So, I wish everybody the best of luck in 8th grade, and I hope everybody in 7th grade ICT will have as much fun as I did.

Game Play You

RuneScape – http://www.runescape.com/

It is a RPG, or role-playing game, which involves you creating a character and leveling up skills so that you can take on quests and other dungeons for fun. You can purchase many items, some that are rare and powerful and others that involve strategy. There is no end to the game, as it is ongoing and there is tons to do. I like it because it is endless, and there is so much to do, and so much coming to do, that you will want to keep coming back. With membership, your possibilities become endless. There is absolutely NO way to complete everything! It’s really fun, and really epic. I play this game a lot, and very often, because it is highly addictive, since there is no way to beating the game, it is so much fun to play and so much fun to keep on playing.

Defense of the Ancients (DotA) (Warcraft III) – http://www.dota-allstars.com/

DotA is a Real-Time, Multiplayer game, playable on the Role-Playing Game, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. In the game, you can pick from a range of 99 heroes to play as, each with their own unique skills. Each character is special in their own way, but some are stronger than others. I like this game because it is highly addictive, and there is no end to the game, as all you do is play it, and then the game ends. Once it ends, you can start from the beginning and level up again starting from level one. I play this game around five times a week, sometimes even with some classmates like Dan, or Mirek, or Bine. I enjoy this game a lot, so I play it frequently as well. I’ve beaten the game more than a hundred times, I bet, as the game takes around thirty minutes to play, but I started playing since I was seven. The game may be rather old, yet it is enjoyed by millions of people around the world.

This game is called FreeRider 2. Freerider involves you using one character, but many different kinds of rides/vehicles can be involved. You can change from a BMX bike, to a free-rider blob. It’s a platform game, but you create your own platforms for the game. You create your own maps and landforms. I like it because there are a number of possibilities to create for your maps, and there are endless possibilities to what you can do.  I play it often at home when I’m bored, and I like to play it in ICT as well so I can pass the free time. There is no way to beat it, and there are many ways to do this game, so it is what makes this game addictive. It is what makes this game fun to play.

Sweet Memories…

...Nothing to say...

ICT7, a semester of fun and blogging, and now it has to come to an end. Time seems to pass so quickly when you’re having fun. As a memoir for all the fun I’ve had, I’m going to write a reflection about ICT7.

Well, to cut a long story short, mostly what we did in class is blogging, the blogs that were then made for you’re entertainment. Also, we did videos, games, animations and all sorts of things. We made animations for a person colliding with another on Scratch. We also did Video Stories on YouTube, and a lot of things about Google, like the Google Wave, and the — you know them.

Personally, my favourite project this semester is the project on Scratch, the one where one person collides into another. I guess it’s because I’m really good in animations and all (but it’s pretty dumb too =p Go check it out below!) The project I hate the most is where we had to make photostories, mostly because I hate my voice-over.

Looking back, I realize what I’ve learnt may help me, such as Google Wave, or Google Books. Maybe I want to organize a party, or just want to read a new book. There is one thing I’d like to change in ICT7 too though — the way I’ve been slacking off really made my grade go down.

I do want to learn more about computers, but if I had to make a list of what I want to learn, the list would be so vast and long it would never end. I guess I’m just curious.

Well, this will be my last post this semester. I’ll write again in… August, September? I don’t know. I just don’t know how to end this post… Well, the best I can say now is:

Stay gold people. Stay gold.

Year end reflection

This semester in ICT7, we’ve learn a lot about computer, media communication, blogging and understanding the history of many big and famous company. Such as Microsoft, Apple, Lime Wire and much more. After we read an article we made a blog post about it, and it helps us understand it more.

The thing that enjoyed the most in ICT7 is that we’re able to do projects on many fascinating program and it is really awesome and fun. The project that I the most is the one that I did on Scratch, I created a animation and it is really fun. Also there is a project that I found most challenging, which is the one that we  Photo Story, it is challenging for me because of its new and I haven’t used it before and it gave me a hard time figuring out, also it is a little embarrassing  for me to record my voice. I learned how to create a blog post and the basic outline so I’ll be able to create a blog post at home or some other places, so that people can read and understand.

The only one thing that I would like to change in ICT7 is that I would like to do some more fun projects and the teacher gave us more free time to do our own things. Also I would like to learn more about other kind of soft ware such as Linux and Ubuntu and others.

Year End Reflection

This year, I had ICT for one semester. I did a lot of  projects that were fun. We had to write a reflections on things that we did, such as the Photo Story, the Google Search story, and more. I enjoyed doing the Game reflections. I had to write reflections about 3 games that I liked. My teacher gave us some time to play games before writing reflections on them. The second project that I liked was the Google Search Story. It is telling stories in different was and it is owned by Google.  I liked it because its so fun to make stories like that. It searches in Google and its so cool. Somethings that were challenging for me was the Scratch and the Photo Story.  Scratch was hard for me because my stickman was walking with his head and I coudn’t fix him. Well, I did try to make him walk with his legs, but then he bounces and walked with his head again. Since we write reflections to much, I think ICT will be helpful in Writing Developement. Also, we can use the reading skill too. If I could change one thing in ICT, I won’t actually change the, because it is the teacher’s decision and I will just follow the teacher’s decision. But if I had to change one thing, I would change more game times, like 15 minutes. I like to learn more about what’s going on everyday in different countries. I am really interested in those things.  I had a lot of fun this year.

Year End Reflection

by Stuck in Customs

This semester, we had ICT. ICT class is quite an interesting class because instead of reading and writing in books, we type and highlight on the screen that’s in front of us. Our first assignment was reading a writing and reflect about it. It was the future technology post. My latest post is the game evaluation. Throughout this semester, we wrote a lot of blog posts and projects. I enjoy doing blog posts, because I like to write. But, I don’t exactly like all of the projects because most of them are shared after we are done.

The project that I dislike the most is the Scratch Project. It wasn’t my favourite project because I don’t like to “mess” around with computer applications. In the end, my project came out to be… weird. My favorite project was making the Google Search Stories. I think Google Search Stories is a very good way to know more information. One assignment of mine was to experiment with Google Wave. I think it’s really cool. There are a lot functions that can be used in many ways. The most challenging project was the Photostory. We were required to find 15-20 photos and make a story out of them. My voice was very soft, because I’m not a brave person, and I like to stay quiet at most times.

I could use the Google Search Stories to make a short yet precise presentation. I would like to learn more about how games are created or basically, how everything on the Internet is created. If I could change something about ICT, I would just want the projects presentations to be personally done, and not done in front of the whole class. That’s the only thing that I want to change. :)

Year end reflection

In ICT7 this year,  I learned about mostly how to create a animation or a story inside a the computer. We did photo story, search story, scratch animation, etc.As for the project I had enjoyed the most is scratch animation because I like to draw characters and I like cartoons too, for the most challenging project was also scratch, because it’s really hard to control the characters the the way you want. Probably I can use the skill of using the images to say what I want to say without speaking myself in places other than ICT7, And one more thing If I could change One thing in ICT7 I would change the length of free time, and let the students do what ever they like  And I would like to learn how to create a game using scratch.

Year End Reflection

I learned in Future Technology, How do you take your Avatar, Twitter, Photostory Reflection, “The Tell-All Generation Learns to Keep Things Offline”, Google Books, LimeWire, Search Stories, Facebook Privacy Settings, Google Wave and Game Evaluation. Photostory, I enjoy the most because I make these kind of video before, so it is easy for me. Also, I can chose the music, poem and pictures that I like. The most challenging project is Scratch because I am not very good at drawing and scratch. Future Technology, LimeWire and Google Wave can transfer to other subjects and beyond school. If I could change one thing in ICT7, it would be have more photostory project.I like to learn about other things that can make a video. Like Movie Maker.
