“Love wins. Love always wins.” By Morrie Schwartz, This book is very special, when I stepped into the PNC book store, this book attracts me like magnetic and also my sister recommended this book to me. This book seemed very fun because I saw the ‘THE RUNAWAY BESTSELLER THAT CHANGED MILLIONS OF LIVES’ on the top of this book. This book has a lot of morals and lessons, and this story is about life lessons. I liked the quotes and professor Morrie’s personality and his teaching skills.

Tuesdays with Morrie is a true story about sportswriter Mitch Albom and his favorite college professor Morrie Schwartz. After graduation, Albom promises to stay in touch with his professor Morrie. He spends several frustrating years working odd jobs and wondering what he is doing wrong. So, he loses touch with all of his college friends and morrie_dancingteachers. His musical dreams are dying, and he started to feels like a failure for his life. One day Mitch heard the news about his favorite professor Morrie is dying of ALS, and Lou Gehrig’s disease. After that Morrie makes an important decision. He isn’t going to hide behind his illness. He isn’t going to be ashamed or afraid of dying. He’s been a teacher all his life and decides he will teach one final class, teaching his students how to die and teach about life lessons. So, Mitch started to learn lesson about life every Tuesday. For the next fourteen weeks, Schwartz and Albom discuss everything about regrets and death to money and marriage, from family to forgiveness. I like this quote from Morrie Schwartz, “Death ends a life, not a relationship.” and this quote is my favorite,

“Love each other or die.”

My 2 Goals for this year!

homeowrk-main_fullI have 2 goals to achieve this year. One of my goal is personal and other one is for school. My personal goal for this year is to wake up early on the weekends. My mom gets always mad at me because I get up too late, I usually wake up at 10 or after 10 o’ clock on the weekends. It would be nothing for some people, but seriously it will be very difficult goal for me, which is I love to sleep. So I want to be an active person.Then my mom will not be mad at me and I will have more time to study.

Second goal for this year to do my homework right after the school. I don’t want to do my homework at night and sleep late anymore. After school I direct ran to the bed to get some rest for minutes and have some snack and have some more rest and start homework. But I don’t want to do that anymore! Also, if I do my homework right after the school, I would have plenty of time left at night. What I’ m planning to do at night is to review what I learned that day and agonize about what will be on the test.

Sick house syndrome

 

I’m Emily, and my family is moving to Washington, where it is very cold but I hate cold! We arrived at new house where we’ll live. It’s big and spacious inside, better than the old house. But strangely, it’s cheaper. I’m different from other students of my age; I’m interested in designs, interior, and furniture. I looked around my room and I am satisfied, but as long as I avoid the sick house syndrome. When I have this syndrome, the new house’s smell, paint, and air make me sick, and make my skin to develop an allergy.

At night, something silently passed besides me, but I just ignored it and went to bed. In the middle of the night, I woke up chilly and there was a girl in front of my bed! It was a ghost. “Cawwwwwww!!” I screamed. Her skin was covered with blood and she kept on scratching herself. She was almost going to cry and her eyes were filled with anger. Later, she disappeared, so I thought I was safe and I would be okay. However, the ghost appeared every midnight, every time she was scratching her skin, every time her skin got more disgusting, and bloodier. Every day before I fell asleep I began to experience insomnia.

At school, I have one very firm friend called Erin. “Emily, what happened to your skin? Your skin is like, sick.”

“I’m having a hard time these days, because of the sick house syndrome.” I said quietly.

“Oh, that’s too bad, where do you live?” Erin asked.

“My house is in middle of the forest, the house with the brilliant blue roof, you would know.”

“Whaaat? You live there? It’s a mystery house; do you know the curse of that house?”

“The Curse?”

“Yeah, that house is strange, it’s been almost 60 years since it was built, but still it’s like a new house.” Erin explained vividly. “And every time people move into that house, they committed suicide, because of the sick house syndrome, they couldn’t endure it.”

“Tell me more about the curse.” I asked again with shivering voice.

“I don’t really know much about that house, but I heard that the first person who died in that house was very hyper and greedy person who had a serious sick house syndrome. She was having a sick house syndrome allergy and then it got disgusting over time. So she committed suicide. But she didn’t want to die alone so she always appears in that house and scared people. That’s all I know.” The story that Erin told me was like a story of horror movie, but it happened at my house.

Strangely, when I came back home after school, my dog died. “Sandy,,,,,,” I couldn’t say anything, and it was very shocking to me. Sandy was enthusiastic until yesterday, she didn’t eat anything wrong, and she was just okay. More shocking was she was covered with blood. What mom said was Sandy suddenly started to scratch herself, she kept on scratching, but it didn’t seem to be working, so she hit her head on the hearth concrete wall. With Sandy’s death, the curse of the house began.

Next day, my skin developed an allergy again and it was extremely itchy, So, I scratched my allergy as hard as I can, but it only became itchier every second. I kept on scratching my skin, but I couldn’t stand it, and I threw myself into the hearth. There I was burning inside of the hearth, but it was not itchy anymore.

…what happened next?

I was still alive. When I woke up, I was lying on an uncomfortable bed and smell of alcohol intoxicated me, and my body was covered with a shinny ointment. When I gently sat properly, there was a mirror in front of me, and in the mirror; there was a mummy instead of my face. “Emily, are you okay?” my mom whispered to my ears. “Oh, sweetie, we moved to a new house, this house will not make your skin to develop an allergy again. You don’t have to worry about sick house syndrome anymore.” Yes, this house was great. I saw fresh, greenish trees outside and flowers dancing through the windows. The weather was fantastic also, no clouds, not cold weather, warm and sunny. The sun was shining on me and made me feel relaxed.

When I woke up from this happy dream, I could feel that my body was warm and when I slightly opened my eyes…”Emily! Emily! Emily!!! Oh my god, honey, honey!” my mom was in front of me and screaming at me. I could feel that my body is melting in the hearth like a soft ice cream. I felt warm. My eyes slowly closed. I fell into a sleep deeply, very deeply, forever…

A boy asked his mom about this mystery house, while he was walking besides, “Mom, why people keep commit suicide in that house?”

“Well,, it’s kind of scary, that house has a curse of sick house syndrome.”

These days, I was working on the Glogster cyber bullying poster. While I was doing gloster cyber bullying poster, I had to find photos, and videos about cyber bullying, and I realized that cyber bullying is a serious problem. In Youtube, I could find a lot of cyber bullying videos, and campaign videos, also the videos that are about the person who died by cyber bullying. I knew that the school bullying, or only physical bullying makes people hurt and can’t endure it, but it was totally not. “I hate you,” this one sentence kills and hurt people a lot. Many people committed suicide by cyber bullying. By cell phones, by computers, emails, makes people can’t endure it and hurt. Maybe cyber bullying is tougher and worse than school bullying.

Let’s delete cyber bullying, don’t write it, don’t forward it.

Line art 2!

After we finished our box scratch project, we did the line art 2! Line art 2 was little bit harder than line art1 but it was more complicated and more interested than line art 1. Scratch line art are like a math, because we have to use x- axis and y- axis values to move the lines. It’s so confusing but the good things about scratch line art is we can design the background and colors of  lines. We already did more than 4 scratch projects, So I started to be feel comfortable with using scratch. I hope I can make more scratch files and learn more about scratch in next year too.

I went to Mui Nei!

I went to Mui Nei for 4days and 3 nights!

I tried new things at Mui Nei, such as abseiling, scavenger hunt, hike Taku mountain, team building games, etc. The most impact and hardest activity i did was abseiling. It was the first time I tried abseiling and it was fun as I expected before. Little bit scared when i stepped on the 25 meter  long, with 90 degrees cliff, but it was fun! Hiking Taku mountain was hard as abseiling. I dripped all my sweat on the Taku mountain. And I drank 3 bottles of water while I was hiking. It made my legs get stronger. Team buildings that we did on the beach was hard as abseiling and hiking too. But team buildings that we did made as more cooperate and developed our team works. We did about five team building games. The funniest team building game was, “finding coins in the pool.” First, we divided into two groups; boys team and girls team, and then helpers throw the coins into the pool. And we get the coins from bottom of the swimming pool! Strangely, girls team won. 0ur team was less people than boys team and their swimming skills were  better than girls, but we won! Anyway it was my best teambuilding game because it was cool~.

Peaceful time at the Phan Thiet were, when we walked on the beach at night, when we did the camptfire, when we swam at the hotel pool, and when we eat. Walk on the beach at night was really fun. We walk on the smooth sand and beach water slightly wave over our feet. It made me comfortable and relax. Last day at Mui Nei, we did the campfire on the beach. We sat around the campfire and sang songs and it was really fun. “One bottles of pop~, two bottles of pop~, three bottles of pop~, …. seven bottles of pop!!!”(song that we sang at the beach.) After we lose our strength at beach, we ate marshmallow bonfire. Ummmmm~ This field trip very was special but tired trip. I made lots of great memorises, especially I cant forget the day that we did abseiling! It would be my perfect field trip, if I didn’t get sunburned and sick!

It’s been already two weeks at school. I met some new teachers and classes in  this second semester and they are interesting and brand new* But still, home works and tests are a lot more than first semester, I’m really busy these days and I took two exams yesterday too! New classes in this year are art, I.T and Swimming.

Art is fun- but i don’t really like that class, in art always so short class.  I.T is very fun and interesting. I didn’t liked the last year’s I.T class because we did only Mavis (typing) and we didn’t really learned about the computer, how to use computer and internet. But in these days in this class we are learning about internet and it’s new for me.  Lastly, SWIMMING! I love swimming~because I’m in a swim team and I’m practicing hard to go to the Thailand Bangkok Splash!

Anyway  I think this semester will be cool and fascinating as SWIMMING!

This Line Art project was extremely fun! most interesting project I ever did. During I was making this Line Art, it was little bit confused and complicated but It was Interesting. I was glad to learning this Line Art, because it was new to me. My ict7 class did a fantastic job! If you look at videos that we made, it’s awesome.

My school life,

These two weeks were really really fast, already end of the march. March was busy and tired month, more tests and quizzes, more tired than last months and more things happened in this month. Usually I loved March because my birthday is in March, but I started to hate March.

I hope next month would be better than this month, LESS home works, tests, and less projects. I am very looking for week without walls, we will go to Phan Thiet, which is we already been in 5th grade. I’ve been Phan Thiet many times, but I like Mui Nei beach every time I visit.

In science class, I’m learning about bacteria, I’m still curious about why am I learning bacteria that we can’t see anyway and really small. Still I like science and investigate bacteria, molds, fungi, and growing bacteria. Oh! I enjoyed science experiment about taking banana DNA from banana. When I smashed bananas, it was stinky and looks strange and it was different color than other groups’ smashed bananas. But somebody said that our bananas’ color is strange because they are health! The process of taking DNA out of banana was very confusing but we succeed perfectly.

In humanities, we just finished reading a book called “Song of the buffalo boy.” The story take place in Vietnam and the time was after Vietnam War. There was one girl named “Loi,” who is half blooded in the story, so she gets discriminated by people. Then Loi was shy and lost confident, but at the end, she decided to marry with her lover “Khai,” who is pure Vietnamese. So, Loi realized that she is not different than other people and she has same rights as other people. Loi noticed that she is IMPORTNAT.

Always second semester is difficult and harder than first semester, so, it is harder to get really good grade in math and science like first semester. And I’m sad about time passed away really fast.

But, end of this month, my most fascinating event is coming! BANGKOK SPLASH! This will cover all my stressful and frustrating things, happened in this month. I can’t believe that Bangkok splash is coming soon!

And IT is always FUN! It is interesting every time, and projects are fun! Especially line art project!

WORD CHOICES

I noticed that I used I.T, CLASS, NEW words the most. I used I.T words many times because I had many things to write about I.T class, I did many interesting things in I.T and I learned many things that I usually wanted to learn in the I.T class. I used “new” many times because I used them for new classes, new teachers, new things, new friends, etc. Lastly I used class few times, I wrote and described about my I.T class, Art class, P.E class, and other classes that I’m very interested in. I think I have to use more words and better word choices.
