Scratch Reflection

15 12 2009

Oscar and I learned how to make us of the features that Scratch provides such as decreasing a bunch of codes which does the same thing by using special commands. We could have spent more time experimenting using variables and other Scratch features in order to reach Scratch’s top potential. Learning how to use Scratch now gave us the abilities to apply our knowledge of Scratch in future assignments. Oscar and I divided up the work  equally depending on our specialties  to make the work we produce efficient to present.

Usage of Facebook in Canada and Viet Nam

25 11 2009

Wefacebook thought that Canada used Facebook more often than Viet Nam but were proven wrong after looking at the data . After analyzing the data we found out using Tinkerplots, we found out that Viet Nam actually has a higher usage of Facebook than Canada of the students that answered our survey.

Science Project

13 11 2009

This is a redo of a science project using Xtranormal. This cartoon is about 2 students talking about Changes in Matter. The guy explains the changes in matter and how it relates to a made up storyline that relates to changes in matter.

Scratch Reflection

11 11 2009

The obb4jective of this scratch project was to create a grid and to create three different sprites to erase the grid and to form faces.  The hardest part of this project was to create the faces. It is hard to place the eyes and the mouth in the right places so it would look perfectly aligned. It was also hard tocreate a shorter command for the grid

because we are not used to using repeat commands.

Introducing Xtranormal

5 11 2009

I have learned that there are several ways to create cartoons for different purposes. My teacher introduced me to a website that creates cartoon movies by just making conversation between 2 or more actors. You can change the way the actors act, their looks, their expressions and the way their talk. In addition, you can change camera angles, scenes and actors. I like this program because it is easy to use and it is straight forward.  I like how you can change camera angles and focus on the actors or different objects. In the future, I wish Xtranormal would add more actions because some of the actions I was looking for was not there.

Me, Myself and I

13 10 2009

sountrack_info_animoto

This is my first Animoto video about my self. First, I had to download 15 or more pictures from the web. After that, it asked us to upload the pictures from the computer. What i liked about this was that you could arrange the photos in order in the way you wanted. It commands like spotlight, duplicate, shuffle and add text. I personally liked the spotlight because you can place special emphasis on certain photos. We just have to click the thumbnail picture and click the spotlight command. After that process, I added music of my own. If you don’t have music, you can use Animoto’s music. The music that I chose was “Slide Show” by T.I featuring John Legend. After all of that, you finalize your video. You choose the image pacing, video cover screen and the video_animotovideo animoto_commandslength.

Avoiding Mergers

25 09 2009

Avoid objects near the subject of the photo.

img_0282

In this photo, the subject has a pole sticking out of his head. That is a merger. We should avoid mergers because it will not look good with the subject of the photo. There are different ways we can take the photograph and avoid the pole merger.

This photo graph is now much better because now the pole isn’t sticking out of his head. Avoiding these mergers will be a key to taking better photographs.

Rule of Thirds

25 09 2009

Imagine your picture is divided in to thirds both horizontally and vertically. Take the shot in one of the 4 lines intercepting in the middle to give it a little more creativity on the picture.

img_0062

This photograph applies to the Rule of Thirds because the photograph was taken in the top right intercepting line. The student is in the right side of the photo because it interprets that he would be swinging to the left side so space is needed in the left side of the photograph.

Lines

24 09 2009

picture-009Use lines to make your picture more creative. But don’t just take a picture of straight lines, turn the camera around or be creative to make the lines more creative.

This picture shows lines leading up to the main idea of the shot and makes the subject more creative.
