Reflection – Global Issues Group (edited) Feb.6/09
I have been joining the Global Issues group ever since the first semester. There were not many students in the group, but each time I went to the meetings, It helped me to consider about the nature and how to make the environment around us better. We have discussed and made plans about recycling the plastic cups that those people use to put the smoothies. We came up with many ideas and plans, but it seemed hard to be accomplished in the moment.
But yesterday, i went to the meeting again and the topic for our discussion interested me very much. The teachers wanted to have a spring festival and create a day for it just like the international days. We had to put our heads together to find a appropriate and interesting name of the day, games to play or any other activities that people would enjoy doing, with the theme of art, spring, and colors. I came up with the idea of painting by popping the balloons full of bright, spring-color watercolors with darts and creating an art work, and earning money for the darts. After my suggestion, tons of other ideas were given, such as water fight, planting seeds and decorating flower pots, making spring rolls by themselves, and much more exciting games. Many variable ideas were popping out of our heads and they were making me more excited about the festival that will be held on someday around May. I think this is a very good idea because the festival would make people think more about the nature and also have great times. I wish for lots of people to participate on that day.
