Poverty means that people in the western world have cheap products, which they like. People in poor countries make the products. If there were no poor people there would be no rich people either. It is in the interests of rich people to keep the poor, poor. It would be great if people would get together and eradicate poverty, but that would mean a huge shift in the finances of everyone. The western world would no long have all the cheap clothes and products it has now. That is part of the reason why governments are corrupt, and there are civil wars, and the other reasons you stated.
