We predict a similarity between SSIS students in Vietnam and HRHS students in Canada. We think that SSIS and HRHS students use the same amount of percentage for researching on the internet because SSIS students want to  research information that is not only related to Vietnam, but around the world. The same goes for HRHS students.

Our results shows that students of SSIS and HRHS almost has the same amount of percentages researching on the internet. SSIS students in Vietnam has 42% and HRHS  students in Canada has 58%.

Our results supports our Hypothesis. Our results tell us that, SSIS students use internet for researching almost the same amount of percentage as the HRHS. Both precentages are very close to each other. We also think that both schools uses internet for researching because it’s for their education in school plus maybe they do not have books specific enough to help them research.

We predict  similarity between SSIS students in Vietnam and HRHS students in Canada is that both schools use Youtube the most for music entertainment because people around the world post music or music videos in Youtube the most common. That means that not only SSIS students and HRHS students use Youtube for music but also tons and tons of people around the world uses Youtube for music.

Our results shows us that SSIS students use Youtube at 45% and HRHS students use Youtube at 54%. The percentage are very close together therefore it could be a similarity  between the two schools

Our results supports our Hypothesis. It tells us that about 50% of both schools uses Youtube for music. Because we think that both students in both schools want to also share their own music and interact with other people around the world.

We predict a difference between HRHS students in Canada and SSIS students in Vietnam. We think that SSIS students uses CNN and BBC more than HRHS students does because they want to know world news because most of the HTV broadcast mainly talks about Vietnam news and other countries that are near.

Our results shows that students of HRHS uses CNN at 27% and BBC at 0% while SSIS students uses CNN at 73% and BBC at 83%.

Our results support our Hypothesis. Our results tell us that SSIS students use CNN and BBC for news because SSIS wants to learn about news around the world not only in Vietnam. In the other hand, Canada doesn’t use CNN and BBC because they have their own news broadcast which takes news around the world.chloe-mason-pua-pao-and-guy-bao

Hypothesis: We predicted out of the choices that were given, that YouTube would have the majority among both genders because from our observations everywhere, YouTube seems to be very famous world wide.

Result: After analyzing the data using Tinker Plots, we came to find our hypothesis to be correct. Both male and female mostly chose YouTube out of the five choices that were given to them. In total, 60 male and 64 female students who were surveyed chose YouTube and 8 other students chose other given options.

Conclusion: In conclusion we found that YouTube is widely used by most people around the world despite where you are from, your gender and age.

We created a survey about internet use.  In this survey, 133 people completed the survey. 67 of them were female, and 66 people were male. The survey took from two different countries; Vietnam and Canada. In Vietnam there were 72 people who completed the survey and 60 from Canada.

Hypothesis: We think most people will use either MSN or Yahoo to communicate with others, because most of our friends use MSN and Yahoo. Also, it’s convenience and comfortable to use them. You can register and add friends easily. Even though, your friend uses other application, you can still add them in MSN or Yahoo.

Result: As we expected, most students at SSIS and HRHS use MSN for communicate application.  By the result, 34% of students are using MSN, and secondly 23% of students are using Yahoo.  We were little bit surprised because there was quite a big difference to each percentage.

Conclusion: We think most students at SSIS and HRHS use MSN, because it simple and easy to register. Therefore, there are more users on MSN. Also, it’s free to register and use it. MSN allows you to check news, e-mail, and issues of social network.

time-limit-on-computer-graph

Our class has created a survey about similarity of internet shopping. In this data, total of 133 students from HRHS and SSIS surveyed the question. In SSIS, 72 students have been surveyed, and 60 students from HRHS surveyed the question

Hypothesis: Our group hypothesized that students in both HRHS and SSIS use have a time limit in their computers, because most parents wants their child to use computer in certain time, for their health also for them to study.

Result: The 19percent in SSIS has time limits on their computer, and 81% of students in SSIS have no time limits on their computer. For students in HRHS, 20 percent of students have time limits on their computer, and 80 percent of students have no time limit on their computer.

Conclusion: Our hypothesis was wrong, and it was surprising how students in both schools don’t have time limits on computers. Assumption our group made was both parents in SSIS and HRHS isn’t really strict about length of time students’ use in computer.

Hypothesis: We thought that MSN would be used dominantly for both gender because most students we observe and know find MSN  more convenient.

Result: After analyzing the data, we found out MSN is the most popular social application for both genders with responses from HRHS and SSIS. Overall, 45 students from both gender chose MSN as social application they mostly use.

Conclusion: So in conclusion we found that MSN is the most popular social application in both schools of SSIS and HRHS regardless of where each are worldwide and we believe this statement is also true for others all of the world.

music

We created a survey about internet use. In this activity, 133 people surveyed, and 67 of them were female, and 66 people were male. We have surveyed students at Saigon South International School (SSIS) and Holy Redeemer High School (HRHS). At SSIS there were 72 people who completed the survey and 60 from HRHS.

Hypothesis: We think most of students from SSIS and HRHS will use YouTube for music, because YouTube is fast, convenience, and it’s one of the best UCC website in the world. There are variety of You Tube users, who uploads variety of videos and music, which makes many people to visit.

Result: Students of SSIS and HRHS mostly use YouTube to listen to music. There are 94% of student who use YouTube for listening music. Secondly 3% of students use Groove shark.

Conclusion: Our hypothesis supports our result. The plot shows us that students of SSIS and HRHS mostly use YouTube for listening music. Probably there are not many website where we can listen to music. Thus, we think students mostly use YouTube. YouTube is one of the most popular places to host video. It’s free and with millions of users all in one place, it’s a great place.

similarity-serach-engine

There are a total of 132 students from SSIS and HRHS that surveyed the question asking what kind of search engine they use for internet. There were 60 HRHS students who have surveyed the question and 72 students from SSIS.

Hypothesis: We think that most students from SSIS and HRHS use google search engine for internet, because google is the most well known search engine, and it is the best search engine.

Result: As a result, 79 percent of students in SSIS use google for their internet, and 93 percent of students in HRHS use google for their internet. The second largest percent of search engine SSIS students use is Youtube, and the second largest percent of search engine of HRHS students use is yahoo.

Conclusion: Our hypothesis was right, that most used search engine in both HRHS and SSIS is google. The reason for this result might be the same reason we guessed at the hypothesis.

Hypothesis : We thought that SSIS would be the dominant long distance call user because most students in this school are foreigners that contact their families back in their home countries.

Result: After analyzing the data via Tinkerplots, we have found that our hypothesis was right. Of the students we’ve surveyed, 47 students from SSIS and 23 from Holy Redeemer High School call long distance via computer. As for the people who said no, 25 were from SSIS and 37 were from HRHS.

Conclusion: In conclusion we found that more SSIS students have long distance calls compared to HRHS, in our opinion we think this is due to the amount of foreigners in SSIS and it is a international school so most of the students in SSIS are likely to have relatives in different countries around the world.long-distance1
