Peru Apologized!

Peru is giving an apology to its African citizens due to the years of abuse, exclusion and discrimination. About 5-10% of Peru’s population is based on Africans and their ancestors have been brought to their land as slaves by the Spanish Colonizers. The apology was said to show Peru’s true integrity of multicultural population. A ceremony is being planned to celebrate this move forward toward breaking the boundary that nurtures racism.
Peru is not the only country to have apologized for the mistreatment of Africans but they simply moved a further step toward peace. Their apology was a gesture of gratitude and realization of their wrong deeds because when the slaves were brought over art, cuisine and a lot of more cultural traits have been adapted by the Peruvians.
This is what i think all living creatures should do, accept their wrong deeds and be grateful for the things they gain from being with this new change. Apologizing could be so much larger than simply saying sorry to someone. This movement or act is a very inspirational act for young students such as me. I may call this a sollution to war and other issues on this world, a simple and nice apology.

Indonesia minister says immorality causes disasters

Indonesia has been struck with natural disasters and the minister (Tifatul Sembiring) is blaming human kinds immorality. TV and other media corrupt the mind and cause humans to lose their morals says Tifatul Sembiring . According to him the natural disasters are still to come.
Hearing his call “god” has sent a message, another earthquake in late December. His calls didn’t stop there, he demanded for tougher laws after seeing the DVD’s in a store. However, due to his demands and statements people have become angry and annoyed by his actions, they ask why does he care about the immorality of people when 1000 of people have died from the earthquakes.
I can see how people were mad about this dull idea of immorality. Instead of worrying about media i’d prefer Tifatul Sembiring to worry about greater things, he is the minister. He some how also has created a loop in his opinion, morality is it not the proper thinking? and helping other humans? Well he isn’t being moral himself if he is telling the world to be as once a great man said “You have to be the change you want to see.”

Sumatra, Indonesia: Orangutans Going Going Gone?

Orangutans are being trained and taught to survive in Sumatra Indonesia. because they are being raised by human hands their trainers are guiding them also to adapt to the outside forest. Orangutans are apparently very vulnerable creatures due to their breeding cycle. Not only is that a factor to cause their extinction but also human manipulation with the world. Sumatra has already lost 85% of its natural forest so orangutans will have rough times surviving. The destruction is caused by us humans to gain palm oil, paper and pulp, those resources demand the act of cutting down trees. Due to that the orangutan population has dropped towards 6000.
For now endangered species are housing at the sanctuary, a project, to preserve and help the endangered species survive. However, the paper companies want to turn the park into a plantation, but in good news the companies haven’t received a permit yet and there won’t be problems for now.
Just to be sure though it is interesting how selfish the companies are acting. Endagered animals live their lives inside a small park. With what ever forest left they have the paper companies still want it for themselves, concidering how much smarter it would be to simply recycle all the used paper. I am sure that there are lots of used pieces of papers in garbage dumbs to replace probably a forest. I think some rights should be given to the animals because aren’t we suppose to show manners inside a persons house? (forests in the animals case)

The Realization

I have researched my side of the debate fair enough to change my opinion of corporations. My first opinion on them was, they are good folks who create products soothing the needs of the civilization or consumers. However, damage such as pollution, deforestation and defying nature has been executed by the corps. and they have never been proven guilty enough to receive full penalty for their actions.
There are people on this planet that are willing to improve and safe the world from further demolition. However, as a Chinese philosopher would say “where there is a yin there is a yang.” therefore there are also people who don’t care about the world but are more cautious and about their own lives.
From the experiencing and observing a quite realistic debate, I now have an idea why the world is at a stand still on improvement. I was on the side for stopping further damage from happening to the earth and counter arguments thrown at me were all not based on information but rather greed and dull thoughts. Counters such as: ” It is my company, I run it the way i like it.” or ” I don’t care what will happen to the world I just hope I won’t be there when that happens.” Sort of the same way of thinking.
Such counter examples are based on human rights, what I mean is; no one has the right to change no one else’s opinion. Unless unfair laws are going to made, modifying what ever the definition of human rights we have into a different meaning. Human rights is being taken for granted, thus a lot of people can have their own opinions, even if they are morally wrong.
For the debate I did not participate in, I was rather frustrated and tired of hearing the same excuse: ” I worked my self up there so it is all mine.” Repeated the same statement over again and again in the debate I realized that if it is true that you did it all by your self why do you have employees who work twice as hard as you physically and mentally?
I believe that in both the debates I have experienced or observed certain behaviors people have during a realy and formal debate. I really got to learn how importance evidence could become when you are in need of persuation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eKYyD14d_0&feature=channel This is just a reminder for me. This link here is also another debate about the corporations and their caused trouble.
Is the world really this sad and painful?

From the beginning of the year I felt that I would never come to find an interest in Geography or any subject including facts and current events of the world. However, just about a few weeks ago my Geography class began looking at the world’s Economy; their actions and effects on the world. A new picture was put infront of me filling me with only negative thoughts. I never knew how terrible actions have been commited just by corporations that I used to admire for their usefull productions. However, it turned out to be that corporations also created products that were harmful for nature and human society just by using them. Products weren’t intentionally produced to harm the nature, just consumers have come up with more productive ways to use the dangerous products. Monsanto was a corporation responsible for toxic herbicide agent orange used during the American Vietnamese war. Their procduct was used for as a chemical war weapon and the damage caused from the product was unbearable: mutations and slow deaths. Humans weren’t the only victims of the chemical attack, animals were also infected by the toxic chemical destroying nature and possibly creating new diseases.
Let me ask this, animals live just simply to survive and so do humans but why do we change our reason of life to making the world comfortable? Evolution has taken its course and given us the best we could have possibly received. We all just want to survive and living in harmony with nature isn’t a difficult task is it not just because we truely are the devil in disguise? If people would say no, then why are we so worried about air and water becoming so polluted? The bigger question is who has started or done the pollution in the first place? Curing is not our job but to survive is and to do that sacrifices must be taken but not from nature. Nature does not belong to us, so why do we take what does not belong to us and claim that it belonged to us? The world might as well fight back and take back what truely belongs to her. I believe that if the earth ever had the chance to fight us humans, she wouldn’t hesitate to whipe out all of us without mercy.
The Culture that Affects Me
Hi! My name is ChiBinh Dang. I lived in Germany for 11 years and moved to Vietnam. I have lived in Vietnam for only 4 years but the years did go by just like that. I still remember when I saw my first homeroom teacher in Vietnam. His name was Mr Hewett. When I moved it was hard for me to adapt to this culture because people would always have really close body contact while in Germany you don’t really touch each other at all. But slowly I began to adapt and act the same way as all the other Vietnamese, after 3 years I finally realized that I had been “Vietmatized”. After that realization I had my previous summer vacation in Germany, I tried to recreate my German spirit. It all worked out but there will always be a Vietnamese and German side to me that will appear when I am at my homes (note the plural).
Culture really only has affected my religious believes. I don’t believe in any religion due to my German heritage. “I hate the fact that people actually argue and have problems about religion. A big man does not exist in my opinion, I just think all of those believes are a way to escape from hopelessness.” That is my believe and culture talking. The Vietnamese culture has never really affected me in any way, you could say I hate that part of my heritage because the culture just doesn’t fit me. I have been raised and born in Germany, that part of my life just is an “Anti Viet Culture Venom”.
I just live to be German! Alles Gute im Haus!
My Ambitions

Since I was six i always had a dream, the dream to become a movie director. I love the feeling of achievement and creativity from co workers. The inspiration came when I began to stop doing my school work. I didn’t care and spent all my free time watching TV and movies. I analyzed the cast and all the machines they used to make the 3D or 2D figures. How ever my ambition stopped at the age of 8 because my parents weren’t alright with the fact that I was stopping going to school at such a young age. But when I moved here my life began to change. The price and guilt I received from knowing how much money my parents pay just for me to go school made me change. Also after the vacation I had in America I went to Hollywood and I realized I don’t have to give up on my dreams to go to school. So now I live with the passion and spirit to create the greatest movies that the earth had ever seen and “experienced”.
Randy Newman: It’s a Jungle Out There

I love TV series I like to see the life of another person in a third point of view. Their story and life make me feel like im living it myself. I love such series and hope they will have good endings but also will begin witha new plot. Giving new freshness and richness into a series is just terrific. My own favorites are How I met your mother, The Big Bang Theory, Desperate Housewives, Till Death and alos Monk. Those are the best TV series i know and cherish. Right now Im just waiting for the new seasons to release and continue their plot. But monk has been playing on air for yeras and still goes on witha following 9th season. The series is about a detective that wants to catch the culprit who killed his wife trudy. I highly recommend the series to others just for their entertainment.
C-Man: The Origins
I my self am a second culture child, i have been raised accoriding to a German background. I’m really proud of my heritage and love to have my children follow the same cultural believes. Nevertheless I also follow the vietnamese culture the true blood where I’m from. The two cultures have given a unique identity that has a cold and exciting side to it. The german culture has shaped my life since i can remmeber it has given the personality and thought pattern i have. I maybe yellow outside but am truely white inside that is what i would truely say about me. Just as anyother second culture child they prefer to be from the country they were born in.
