I can transfer my good typing skills to use it for Writing class or LA. I enjoy my time in ICT, but the free time should be a little bit longer for others to play. In free times, we can use Facebook, games, Youtube, and etc. I learned so many things from ICT class, but in my mind i don’t know what else should learn about.

My favorite project was most definitely my Photo Story slideshow. This is the only project in which I feel I was on a level footing with all the other people in the class, and I feel that I did very well on that project, despite the fact that I lost half of my photo attributions. The most challenging project, for me, was the Scratch animation.

The  most challenging project (for me) was the Scratch Animation project. I’ve mentioned this in a previous post, but I will say it again: I had no idea what I was doing. I had to constantly ask my neighbors for help, and I think that I did not do myself justice. I believe that I could have made my movements much more smooth. On top of all this, I had to be content with making the stickman in my video glide along the floor instead of walk, like they were supposed to.

The knowledge that I gained in this class can be used in many other situations. One of the absolutely crucial pieces of information I found out about computers was the fact that you could copy, paste, and cut text and images with a simple keystroke. This has helped make finding images for things like title pages much faster, as right-clicking and selecting paste often made the computer lag for no fathomable reason.

If I could change one thing about ICT 7, I would change the program we use to animate from Scratch to another, simpler to use program called Pivot. Pivot makes animating things extremely easy, even if the only thing you can animate are stickmen. Other than that, however, I think that ICT 7 was an amazing experience, as other schools I’ve been to did not focus half as much on computers as I did this semester.

I would have liked to learn about more types of animations, including things like video games, 3- Dimensional movies, and holograms. I think that it would be a very fun-to-learn-about topic. I think that it would be very easy for me to positively jump into the topic, because it makes me smile when I learn. That doesn’t happen every day!

At the beginning of the semester, we first worked with scratch. Like making moving humans which I terribly fail at because to me it’s really challenging to make everything work just by pressing one button. Then we moved onto photostory which was kinda fun except the part where we had to watch it with the whole class. And we also read posts about privacy the the new technology coming out soon. It’s really fascinating to me how technology grows.

The project that I enjoyed most in ICT this semester was the search story we created from google. It was so cool! Instead of having to put a bunch of stuff to make video which takes forever to finish, you can use search story. It’s fast and  the options of the search engine are really cool. When you search, you choose a format of how your search would come out and they have options like: google maps (shows a map of your location), image (google image), books, etc. Anyways it’s very useful if you want to advertise something or just have fun.

The project I found most challenging was Scratch. Like I said earlier, I don’t like long scripts just to do a small movement. That’s so lame! They should so improve scratch, like for example just make a button that makes it moves or dance instead of having us creating a long script. I’m sure it would be more useful and people would like that more.

We wrote alot of reflections after we read a post or finish a project. So it would really help me with my writing in Language Arts and Writing Development.

If I could change something, I would change the fact that we need to share our projects with the whole class. It’s very uncomfortable to me and I don’t like the expression that they give if its not good.

I would want to learn more about how people create sites like facebook and twitter. Do you have to pay or anything like that?

The SSIS high school English department will once again be encouraging students to read over the summer with a summer reading program.  The intent of the summer reading program is two-fold.  First we wish to support students in the continued development of their reading skills; and second, the completion of these novels will, from the first day of school, provide students and teachers with an immediate basis for discussion and analysis of a common literary work.

It was a really great experience to have, to work with others and create our very own game. We first brainstormed about what type of game

to create. We decided to make the game a maze. You have to use the arrows on yourkeypad to move a pink dot, and go to the other end of

the maze. It was quite fun to make a game like this. We especially had fun when choosing which backgrounds to use on the each level of the

game. If you see, or play the game, you can tell that it becomes harder and harder to reach the end of the maze. But that is the PONT of the

game. We tried our best to make the maze more complicating, and to make it work while keeping it complicated.

I think that all o four group members had a lot of fun while creating the game, and that we worked really well with each other. I hope that

you will enjoy the game that we created.

In ICT7, I learned a lot of things that I didn’t know, and tired some cool programs like Photo story, Scratch, Google wave, and more. It was really fun because we made our photo stories and shared with class, and commented on their videos. I think it was good to give a positive comment on peoples works. Some programs were challenging and some were awesome. We wrote reflections on what we did in class. We read a lot of online articles, learned that Internet is not safe, and we should take care of our privacy. I also learned that I have to keep my information private.

I enjoyed the Photo-story the most because, I could create my own story, and record it. I could download some images and put it in to my photo-story. My mood was sad, and it was about refugees. I used black and white effects to make the photos sad. After that, We wrote a reflection about it, then we uploaded on YouTube.  The most challenging project was Scratch. It was really hard to make a stick man to look like it’s walking. I tried my best to make stick man to move and used some background. I could have tried my best, but it was really challenging that my scratch project was not that good. I’ve learned how to use Diigo and it is a program which you can highlight important sentences, or words while you read articles. Once you highlight it, it will save it on your library. After learning how to use Diigo in ICT7, I used it for Social Studies. Our Social Studies project was making a power point and writing an essay. I had to have lots of information so I used Diigo to highlight important sentences that matches my topic. I can put sticky notes and add some information in my own words. If I could change one thing in ICT7, it would trying more different programs. I would like to learn more about Scratch, and Photostory. I would also like to learn about Google book, and Google wave.

Well of all my classes one of my favorites is ICT. ICT is a fun class, you can play games, and learn about new technology, programs etc. I did many projects in this class, using programs such as Google Sketch Up and Scratch. I enjoyed doing Scratch because it was fun and we did it for weeks. We were supposed to animate a flying stickman and a normal stickman and create a story. The most challenging one was also the Scratch because it was hard to do and organizing the movement and stuff. I think I can transfer my learning to other classes, and help people if they don’t know anything. If I could change one thing in ICT, that would be more free time. I don’t think I’d like to learn about anything else.

Pac-Man is one of the first video games ever to appear on Earth. The point is to collect all of the dots that lie around a dungeon, while running away from several brightly colored ghosts. Although the purpose of the game is mind-numbingly uncomplicated, it still is very addicting, and makesyouwant to play it again and again. I do not play the game very often, however, when I do, I end up playing for a very long period of time. I have not yet beaten it, as it is actually quite hard.

Maplestory is a side-scolling MMORPG (massively multi-player online role playing game). I enjoy playing this game because there is always something new to do, due to the weekly updates. Aside from that, socializing with other players of the game is also very fun, forming groups of players called “parties” and taking down huge “boss” monsters. I play this game very often on the weekends. The game cannot be beaten, and the point is to advance your personal player level until you reach the top.

It is a game that needs a lot of skills like Guitar Hero. You use numbers/letter and arrows to play; you need to press those buttons like you’re playing a real guitar. I like this game, because I love musical games and this contain 20 different songs that has many buttons to press. I played it for 1 year already then I stopped, but then I got addicted to it. Eventhough I beat it, I still want to play again, because it is hard to perfect a song.

It’s an adventure/action RPG, which you need alot of skills to complete a very long story of this game. I like many RPG games, but this game is the best of all, because the effects are so nice and all the monsters are so creative. I’ve been playing this game for 2 weeks already, and I’m really far in the story.

Warcraft is a very famous online, worldwide game that is very good. Dota is a special map that is well known by gamers that play this game and it’s the best map to play online with others. I’ve been playing and practicing for like 2 – 3 months. It is very challenging strategic game that I have ever seen.

Demolition dude is one of my favorite games. It’s a destroying game; you have to destroy building to get to the next level. I really like this game because the character is cute and the game really caught my attention the first time I clicked on it. I’m certain that if you spend some time playing this game, you might like it as much as I do. I play it every time facebook and chatting gets boring. Yes, I have beaten this game but I still play it because once in a while it’s nice to replay games that you think you can master but maybe you can’t.

Pacman :]

Pacman is my second favorite game and it’s a strategy game. To master this game, you have to eat all the “food” (dots) in the maze without letting the enemies eat you first. Even though this game is really old, I still love to play it because it makes me use my brain and it’s a really “heart attack” kind of game. By “heart attack” I mean like challenging and I like it when the enemies chace you and you reach a dead end. I don’t play it so often because there are new games everyday and sometimes I caught up with it. Nope, I haven’t beaten it. To me it’s kind of impossible because you need to play this game really often to get the pattern of it. I never even got to level 5 yet!

Red Remover =]

Red remover is a game I just discovered not so long ago. It’s a strategy game like pacman because you need to choose the right steps are you’re dead. The objective of this game is that you need to remove all the red objects that are red, but choose wisely which shapes you click inorder to remove the reds. You might end up killing yourself like I did tons of time. I like this game because it helps me get the stress off from homework and the soundeffects are really cute! I play it almost everyday but what I hate is that once you turn the game off, you’re whole process will be deleted and you will have to start all over -______-  Nope, I haven’t beaten this game yet because on this website there’re 45 levels and I only got to level 30. It’s really hard, but when it gets really challenging I use the cheat shet =))

We were first told to log on to facebook, and use the applications to see the pictures we took, and our messages on our status.

I logged on, and used the applications. The results weren’t as shocking as I thought it would be. I thought that it would have

traced what sites I viewed, and commented on. But it was really nothing. Because I don’t use facebook or English websites alot,

the images I had by using the applications, and the word cloud of the words I used on my facebook status wasn’t interesting.

They were all from the same album or from the same status message.

Also, some of the articles I read said that if we type our name on Google, it will show all of the traces we left when searching

through the websites. But when I searched my name on Google, I couldn’t see anything that related to me. This is probably

because I don’t use the internet websites alot.

But, when I read the articles, I could see how serious this digital identity could become. Anyone can see what I am doing on

the web, whether it’s a comment I made, a picture I uploaded, or a post I made on my blog. And this could be dangerous

when somebody uses it for a bad purpose. Also, this is a part of a privacy violation.

I learned through this assignment that I should be careful and thoughtful about what I am doing on the internet because

anyone will be able to see what I am doing on the internet anytime they want to. And that we should learn how to protect

our own privacy from being watched by others.

This book is about twins Madrigal and Mary Lee. Mary Lee is being sent away to boarding school and she feels betrayed, she feels like her parents love her sister more, and Magrigal says that it is a good idea that she leaves, like she doesnt care what happens to her. At boarding school, Mary Lee has no friends and everyone thinks she is crazy when she says she has a twin, they think she is making it up to seem cool.

Mary Lee writes letters to Madrigal and Madrigal doesnt really say much to her, she only mentions that she has a boyfriend, Jon Pear. Then Madrigal comes to visit on their winter break and everyone at Mary Lee’s boarding school likes her more than they like Mary Lee. They all go skiing and nobody really pays attention to Mary Lee because she has such a boring personality. Mary Lee ski suit was worse than hers. Madrigal asks Mary Lee to switch suits and pretend to be eachother. Mary Lee says ok, and they do it.

Then, Madrigal goes up in the ski lift, by herself because everyone thinks she is Mary Lee, and her lift chair breaks off and she dies. Everyone thinks that it was Mary Lee though, and Mary Lee thinks that since Madrigal is more popular, why not pretend to be her. After they pack up all of her things and she goes back home and starts school, she realizes what people really thought of Madrigal, and what Jon Pear is really like.

The solution of the main story point was that their parents admitted that they wanted to protect Mary-Lee and that sending her away was to keep Madrigal from harming her. Obstacles that came by were Mary Lee remembers the good times she had with her friends and not Madrigal which makes her forget about her sister’s death and worried about how to get out of her situations. I guessed the ending like Mary Lee living happily forever pretending like she’s Madrigal. I think the best part was when they switched their skiing suit and Madrigal died. Mary Lee deciding to be her sister since she’s dead.

Isn’t there a simple solution to this problem? To simply quit, and join a different network? You could, but you won’t. This is why facebook is good. They push us around, ignore our complaints (which they have gotten really good at over the years), and are certain we will not leave. Why?
- First of all because there won’t be a suitable replacement for facebook for the next 2-5 years to come.
- second: users already have a foot in the grave and they can’t turn back. They have invested to much in facebook: work related,
or personal, it doesn’t matter. they connect with people they can’t else where.
- Third the “cost/benifit” isn’t big enought to leave facebook.

So what the author proposes is not to leave facebook, but to in some way teach each other the importance about privacy setting.
If we all work together we can make it !

43% girls when asked said Facebook was one of the 3 things they couldn’t live without.

Nearly 90% of my friends are using Facebook. Some of them said they spent 2/3 of their day on Facebook. Nowadays, more and more people are using Facebook because on Facebook, people can share contents, contact with others, in touch again with their old friends. Facebook gives users many benefits. I agree. Thanks for Facebook, I found a friend of mine that that I had lost contact for 6 years, since we were in grade 5.

However, Facebook is not always perfect as we used to think. Have you ever think about Facebook privacy? Yup, it would be the most important issue of the year. The problem is the privacy of Facebook is obviously too open instead of safe to protect users’ private information. Besides that, the privacy setting in Facebook is built really complicated, even a native English speaker also hard to understand how does it work. Facebook is just trying to lie to all of us and justify that what they are doing is right.

Danah Boyd, a researcher at Microsoft Research New England, was talking with a teenage girl about her privacy settings and noticed that she had made lots of content available to friends-of-friends. She asked the girl if she made her content available to her mother. She responded with, “of course not!” Danah had noticed that the girl had listed her aunt as a friend of hers and so Danah surfed with her to her aunt’s page and pointed out that her mother was a friend of her aunt, thus a friend-of-a-friend. She was horrified. It had never dawned on her that her mother might be included in that grouping. If Facebook wanted radical transparency, they could communicate to users every single person and entity who can see their content. They could notify then when the content is accessed by a partner. Why don’t they show us who are included in a “friend of friend”, or at least a number of people. But the main reason is because we are too objective, when we think about “friend-of-friend”, we never think who our friend might link to, or we just maybe think that our friend’s friends are just some people who are like us.

Honestly, I’m also a Facebook user, even I already knew the fact about Facebook privacy but it’s really hard to say that I’ll quit it. I’ve used Facebook for a few years and I didn’t really have any problem with it. In my opinion, we just need to be careful and think before posting content on Facebook. Anyway, Facebook is still one of the best choices for connecting and making friends even though it’s not perfect.

43% girls when asked said Facebook was one of the 3 things they couldn’t live without.

Nearly 90% of my friends are using Facebook. Some of them said they spent 2/3 of their day on Facebook. Nowadays, more and more people are using Facebook because on Facebook, people can share contents, contact with others, in touch again with their old friends. Facebook gives users many benefits. I agree. Thanks for Facebook, I found a friend of mine that that I had lost contact for 6 years, since we were in grade 5.

However, Facebook is not always perfect as we used to think. Have you ever think about Facebook privacy? Yup, it would be the most important issue of the year. The problem is the privacy of Facebook is obviously too open instead of safe to protect users’ private information. Besides that, the privacy setting in Facebook is built really complicated, even a native English speaker also hard to understand how does it work. Facebook is just trying to lie to all of us and justify that what they are doing is right.

Danah Boyd, a researcher at Microsoft Research New England, was talking with a teenage girl about her privacy settings and noticed that she had made lots of content available to friends-of-friends. She asked the girl if she made her content available to her mother. She responded with, “of course not!” Danah had noticed that the girl had listed her aunt as a friend of hers and so Danah surfed with her to her aunt’s page and pointed out that her mother was a friend of her aunt, thus a friend-of-a-friend. She was horrified. It had never dawned on her that her mother might be included in that grouping. If Facebook wanted radical transparency, they could communicate to users every single person and entity who can see their content. They could notify then when the content is accessed by a partner. Why don’t they show us who are included in a “friend of friend”, or at least a number of people. But the main reason is because we are too objective, when we think about “friend-of-friend”, we never think who our friend might link to, or we just maybe think that our friend’s friends are just some people who are like us.

Honestly, I’m also a Facebook user, even I already knew the fact about Facebook privacy but it’s really hard to say that I’ll quit it. I’ve used Facebook for a few years and I didn’t really have any problem with it. In my opinion, we just need to be careful and think before posting content on Facebook. Anyway, Facebook is still one of the best choices for connecting and making friends even though it’s not perfect.

Yeah, I think it’s going to change how we communicate in the future because as we go along in life so does technology. Google wave is definitely an amazing tool to use now, but in the future there will be new ideas and from those new ideas, I think that there will be a better tool than google wave. I have to say I’m quite impressed because in google wave you can do almost everything that is impossible for normal email. Let’s say you have a foreign friend and they speak some other language that you don’t. How can you understand each other? Easy, because in google they have this tool where it translate whatever you write to the other person. How cool is that? Does normal email and chats have that? No.

It took awhile for google wave to load for me but it was worth it. I didn’t know there was such a thing like google wave before but now there is. I look at the post and clicked the “playback” button to see what people were doing and talking about. It was amazing but I didn’t explore google wave that much… yet

This is a good thing to communicate, but the problem is you can see so many things like you can see what others are going to write ot you can edit others post. The bad thing is that it’s lacking some of the privacy. It is good at communicating with many people at once and it won’t be that slow, but later on it will lag too much. In my opinion, I wouldn’t use this thing to communicate with others, because it does things that i don’t want.

Google Wave is an amazing website, able to interact with other people we can edit, share, and see what people have to say. I think it will change our communication skills in the future because with this people have a better chance of communicating with each other instead of spamming people with email and junk. I use wave at school for communicating with a lot of friends at once.

This and the fact that I am currently choosing this topic for my latest blog post seems a bit trivial. Why talk about Facebook when you don’t use it anymore? To be honest, I was a former regular user of Facebook, and when an issue regarding the social networking site of which I have parted with was brought up in ICT class, I was not surprised at the news. Facebook is a social networking site–whose immense amount of users had brought it up to  number one in rank– and somebody’s got to make profit.

My first impression of Facebook was no different than any other sites, namely Bebo, Hi5, or Myspace. Personally as a user, I look for creativity and accessible information within one click, and Facebook ranked in between good and bad: it was average. What was customizable, when Facebook never thought of changing its new layout whatsoever, were only personal information and which boxes in your profile do you want to show. Below, or above? It didn’t take long for Facebook to attract members and members. This year, Facebook had recruited over 400 active users. And why? As Danah Boyd, a researcher at Microsoft Research New England, mentioned in her Facebook rant, “Facebook was originally a counterpublic, a public that people turned to because they didn’t like the publics that they had accessed to”

But that was before. Now, users of this social media celebrity has gotten its users to decide whether to quit or not to quit due to its repetitively changed privacy settings. A majority of acquaintances whom I see everyday in school chose to stay. Facebook is served as a platform for social interactions between a person and a group of people, and it seems as if there is a necessity to continue being part of the whole populace whom are possibly updating their status right now.  Facebook proves itself necessary to connect to wanted persons, perchance old high school friends, friends who have moved to faraway places, or relatives in another country.

So Facebook had told the populace that hey, we will change our privacy policies, but what can we say about the fact that this policy contains more words than the United States Constitution? I am not saying that this difference is 400 words, but something like more than a 1,000 words is saying something quite interesting: Does Facebook really care about our privacy, or is it actually the need to make as much profit as possible?

If Facebook guarantees change, would this 5,830 word count curtail some of its policies, or overlapped with even more words? And how much do users know about their security settings? Are they alternating it enough to disallow friends of friends or friends within the same network to have the ability to view their personal datas? Many, many persons have been fired/rejected from their jobs, get arrested, or even to the extreme of being killed due to the available transparency in one’s personal information. It seems as if Facebook wants this. The more “i” connects as a whole to become “we”, it seems as if that would be the end to privacy, and that as much as you can see photos and wall posts of certain people, others can see yours.

Quitting may seem like the best idea to assert one’s freedom, but Facebook is an international social media playground, and there are websites to solve, or “simplify” your privacy settings. Why quit, when there are changes which can be made? Sites such as ReclaimPrivacy and Openbook serves this purpose. Quitting is one thing, but looking for other options is better.

Facebook is making its privacy controls simpler because all the users doesn’t want to share their information. People find them too hard to use then they won’t feel like they have control. Unless they feel in control, then they won’t be comfortable sharing stuff and Facebook service will be less useful for them. Current privacy options are simple. They can let people see their information, or they can choose them not to. Mark Zuckerberg said that he will be listening to the users about their privacy, and how to improve. “we will keep focused on achieving our mission of giving people the power to share and making the world more open and connected.”

I would meet Thalia, and I would ask her what it was like living as a pine tree for 3 years (mentioned in the book) and what it’s like being the daughter of Zeus. I would also ask her what it feels like to be immortal by giving up love.

The main events that happen in the story are the war between the “White Witch” and the Aslan. Lucy , Peter, Edmund and Susan Pevensie during the Blitz went to live with Professor Digory Kirke. One day, Lucy went inside a wardrobe. Then she comes to a forest with snow, she meets a werid animal named Tumnus. He tells Lucy about Narnia. She goes back to the house and tells everyone about Narnia. Some of them don’t believe what she says. One day, they are playing hide and seek. Lucy and Edmund hide in the wardrobe. They go to Narnia, Edmund is lost in Narnia. Then he see the “White Witch” the Queen of Narnia. The” White Witch” told him if he brings his family to her then he can become the prince of  Narnia.He believes that but, he doesn’t know the evil side of the “White Witch”.   So, he went back to bring his family to Narnia. When he goes to where the Witch lives he doesn’t bring his family with him. So, the “White Witch” locks him up. The other people know Edmund is lock up by the Witch.  They find Aslan, the real king of  Narnia. He sent his people to save Edmund. Then the witch come to his land and tell him that if he want to save Edmund then he need to be kill. Two people of the Pevensie saw the time the Aslan get kill. They went to save him. Then the war between Aslan and the White Witch begin.

The issue was first raised back in August last year by researchers from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and AT&T Labs, but Facebook chose to ignore their concerns. That is until the Wall Street Journal stepped in, and then the site’s stopped sharing the data.

Here is what Facebook had to say to the Wall Street Journal about the issue:

“We were recently made aware of one case where if a user takes a specific route on the site, advertisers may see that they clicked on their own profile and then clicked on an ad. We fixed this case as soon as we heard about it.”

The information included usernames and ID numbers that could be traced back to individual profiles. Large advertising companies including Google’s DoubleClick and Yahoo’s Right Media were identified as having received the information although they claim to have not made use of it.

The information could be used to look up individual profiles, which, depending on the site and the information a user has made public, include such things as a person’s real name, age, hometown and occupation.

This is definitely bad timing for Facebook. There has been quite a revolt of late with many users closing down their accounts in protest over Facebook’s lax privacy laws.

Right to Democracy has been used all over the world, even when people don’t notice it. Mostly, it has been used for protesting against something other people does not believe in. According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the right to democracy (article #21) is stated as:

Right now, at this moment, when you are reading this post, there are thousands and millions of people that posted their personal life items onto the internet. It those millions of people, there will be thousands of people’s personal life be seen by strangers. If you don’t start to protect you personal live, you personal life will be known by people that you don’t even know.

I found three articles about that talks about digital identity, and one of them talked about wireless password. I digital identity can be see on the internet. So I just wrote a story with all (?) of the abilities I have so far…And out came this “story”. Used simple language…and maybe even have mistakes throughout the whole thing.

Anyways, basically, our Spanish class is learning about taking a trip, words used in airports, and all sort of vocabulary and grammar used for traveling…and so therefore the comic strip will be about traveling -0- ((I know I”m making stupid comments that you’ll feel like punching meh in the face…:P))

So…here’s the not-very-good-and-”efforted” comic strip~~

This is awesome when you can make this into a video! The way it organized in the beginning and the way it end make me feel that I want to make more video, also when I look at other people video it amazed me about how they write their information and how did they organized it. But how about they let use put some video in it to make it more cool or something fun to make them more interseting.

I think this a cool way to search information that I want to know about. Type anything in the bars and choose what a choice: Web Search, Images, News etc. Later it will automatically show the pictures of Google searching for the information or images. It’s an easy-making short video tool that is on Youtube.

This movie is about me searching for a place to go to. I really like this new function of google search because it is very intresting and a fun way to make a movie. It’s simple, easy, and its free!

Facebook. Who does not know Facebook? Do you know Facebook? Oh my, you don’t? Don’t get offended, but I’m going to try to judge who you are. 1) A nerd 2) A retard and maybe 3) Someone who has no access to the internet, but this would be very unlikely because you have access to the internet at this very moment, reading my post.I mean, who does not know Facebook. It’s an internationally socialized media that has connected the society for the recent times and predicted to be connecting people from all over the world at all times. It’s a really social-friendly media that has allow us the access to connect with our long lost friends from all over the world. However it has also connnected un-friendly users such as strangers to the access to our personal profile (pictures, walls, personal information etc).

“They never imagine that “everyone” includes every third party sucking up data for goddess only knows what purpose. They think that if they lock down everything in the settings that they see, that they’re completely locked down. They don’t get that their friends lists, interests, likes, primary photo, affiliations, and other content is publicly accessible.”

Danah Boyd who is a researcher working in Microsoft Research in New England had recently wrote an article expressing her anger about the insecure privacy and the limited choices we have while using Facebook. A while back ago, Danah Boyd was talking to a teenage girl about her privacy settings in Facebook. This teenage girl wanted to avoid her daily Facebook life  from her mother, therefore did not add her mother as a friend on Facebook,  however Danah Boyd surfed with her to her aunt’s page and pointed out that her mother was a friend of her aunt, thus a friend-of-a-friend. When Danah Boyd told the teenage girl about this, she was horrified.

But this is not really the main point that Danah Boyd wants to point out. The thing is that, although Facebook has so much negative aspects , people are still using Facebook and are not seeming to quit it. Also, no one in our class of 15 students who have all read about the unsecured Facebook tools , said they were willing to quit Facebook. Either because 1. They are addicted to it already that it is hard for them to stop 2. They don’t think it’s a really big problem. What is this?! Facebook is just like smoking, when people smoke, they know it’s bad for them, but they still keep smoking. Well, cannot literally say Facebook is bad but it’s not good.

I think that search story is a very cool tool, it’s a much easier way to make a video. For search story, you don’t need to make your hair perfect or dress up or even need a camera. All you need is ideas and after seconds, your video is done! How fast is that? With the camera, you need to upload it to the PC then add music and edit a tons of things, but with search story it just takes seconds. Both, it’s a cool way to search about things and it’s also a useful tool. You can easily find what you need in seconds!

What does Mark Zuckerberg have to say about this? (What is his reasoning or excuse?)

This video creator could potentially be very useful. It is an easy way to make videos, and you get to have the satisfaction of watching the number of comments and views on your video grow. But you get this satisfaction with any other video you upload to Youtube. The search stories video creator, however,  could be very useful while researching, as you see what pops up on the preview screen, without actually going onto Google and searching it up.

I think this story is for everyone to watch because we are destroying the Earth, and everyone has to stop that. This story kinda explains what we are doing to the Earth. I think Search Story is really a different way of telling stories and it is fun watching that. I think it is kind of a cool way to search about something. It is also a useful search tool  but this would be only if the story is kind of longer. If we make the story and the Search Story types it by itself and search. They show us some of the webs, images, blogs, and more. This is really cool way to search about soemthing and useful search tool.

The story in this book took place in the animal farm where many animals were grown. Animals in this farm were abused by their owner called Mr.Jones. Finally, they couldn’t live there being abused by the owner so they took over the farm and Mr.Jones ran away. After they took over the farm, this farm becomes a mass and many things happen to the animals.

In this book the story takes place in the past and the place where things happen is in the farm in countryside so not many things are developed. However, the time of this story is not long ago, it’s just about few decades ago from now. I know this because they ride the horse cart in the city. The characters in the story were affected by the setting. The characters were affected by owner Mr.Jones. Because he wasn’t  being nice to the animals in the farm, the animals took over the farm. If there owner was nice to them, they won’t take over the farm. The mood of the story was also affected by the setting. Because everything happened in the animal farm, it was noisy and it wasn’t peaceful. Like I said, the setting in this story is really important and affects both characters and the mood of the story.

The story took place in a small land. Queen Veda sends her only daughter, Princess Ana, away to a beauty academy for girls set in the mountains. The Princess is puzzled because her mother has never wanted anyone other than herself to be beautiful. Queen Veda has hated her daughter since she became a young woman and made her life a misery so that poor Princess Ana was forced to eat and eat in order to make herself plump and ugly. It became the only way to get her mother’s affection.

“Ana felt dizzy from the unexpected intensity of the embrace, the frigid air mingling with the warmth of the kitchen.” That was when Pell hugged her. The author used strong word choices to describe the feelings. This would take place long ago because there are no Queens that are jealous of their own child.
I have never been to a place where there are Queens. The setting affected the character. Princess Ana has to eat bunch of food to make herself plump and ugly.

Now, Ana has to be ugly because her mother, Queen Veda gets jealous. This story kinda makes people scary because if the Queen like Veda exist, pretty people might have to hide from her.

And, it is that private information that distinguishes Facebook from Google or Twitter for most people. Neither of those sites has ever asked to share information that I wouldn’t naturally consider public.

But then you might argue that “as long as you don’t lose the identification cards”, no one will be able to have access to any of your information. This idea, in our current society, is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. Don’t tell me you don’t use MSN, yahoo messenger, AOL, twitter, and there’s much more to list; however, one program that stands out the most would be FACEBOOK. Okay, maybe not everyone in the world uses Facebook, but we really consider Facebook as world wide. People upload their personal information, share with people their pictures, and so on. Nevertheless, we should always consider and remind ourselves about the fact that not only your friends can view about your personal information, strangers can as well. Making albums and articles private may not be enough. If those “people” out there are really skilled, they can have the control over your personal information as much as they want.

If you’ve been following my posts (and I’ll love you soooo much if you actually do that!!! *jkjk*), you may already have some idea about Facebook privacy and how “dangerous” it can be. Still focusing on Facebook (since it’s the most well-known and used program online), now I would like to “lecture” (only if you don’t mind ) you about Facebook and creating a digital dossier. Basically, a digital dossier is your online identity. As said before, identity is something that represents you and proves that you are “who you say you are” (I think I’m making it more complicated for readers to understand…-0-). When you first sign in to Facebook, they’ll ask you for your e-mail, birthday, password, a brief description about yourself, and so forth. Some people might be careless enough to not think about it before keying their information; and some people might actually be aware. However, you will often see a star (*) next to the box that you enter your information for. That usually means the information “is required”, and so, even if you were aware about what you put in, you are “forced” to enter your personal information. Just through registering only, the administrator of Facebook (or any other hacker) can easily have access to your personal information. Furthermore, you will then began exposing information about yourself unconsciously because that is something that you wanted to share with people you think are viewing.

If you aren’t careful enough, other strangers can easily have access to your personal information. They can collect all the details about you online, combine it together, and there, they can create a digital dossier. A digital dossier of you. YOU. Once it is made, you can now be considered a “victim” of it. Whoever created a digital dossier of you, they can easily know your social identity, bank account, and so on (if they are skilled enough…jkjk). For this, you think it’s serious? For one, definitely, YES. What, you think that once they have your bank account – and possibly the password – that they will leave the money in the bank and still let you use it? Of course not. One option they would consider at first hand is to bring the money to their own hands. What do you think? I really don’t want to describe this society as ugly and black…but it’s how our current society goes. I’m not saying to not use any social-connecting application anymore for the rest of your life, but I’m telling you to be careful about what you put up there, and who can view it.
