Today we did a holiday rotation. I went to Ms. Helen’s class and I made snowflakes. I was also in Ms. Weiss’s class. In Ms. Weiss’s class I made a bookmark that looked like reindeer. After that, we celebrated Jia-Chi’s birthday. Today is also the last day for me. We also gave cards to our EC buddies. Happy Holidays!
This week on Wednesday, we had a math morning. Some of our parents came to our classroom. First we showed our parents what a number talk looks like in our class. We showed them how to decompose a rectangle. Then we played math games! There were 5 different games to choose from. I played 3 games with Sangeun’s mom. I wish everyday we had math morning because we played games in our math time.
This week was Brooke’s birthday. Our class ate a Power Ball. Inside the Power Ball there was peanut butter, coconut and chocolate.
This week was also Thanksgiving. So we called Ms. Weiss’s parents. We saw Pete and Silver. I felt kind of sad because Silver only had three legs. It was a very fun week.
The last 2 weeks have been very exciting. We did many activities and had some special events. Here are 3 of my favorite events.
The first thing I really liked was going ice skating. At the ice skating rink, we learned about forces. The purpose was to learn more about our unit.
The second thing I enjoyed was the Tug of War. I learned that boys uses more force than girls. The purpose was to see which team uses more force.
The third thing I liked was the ping pong ball team challenge. Our team’s mission was to make a vehicle. We learned that it is very complicated to make a vehicle.
Today’s Artifact: classroom photo
This week, my classroom went through many changes! We got some sofas, we moved some desks, and we brought in some cushions. A yoga mat was donated, and we have some tables that are different heights. We get the choice to sit where we want to be comfortable so we can DO OUR BEST WORK!!!
I think our new seating is better than having our own desks. I also think it is more comfortable than sitting in our own desks.
I wonder if people can donate more cushions. I also wonder why only our class have cushions.
Artifact: reflection video
On Tuesday, October 4, we had our DragonTopia celebration to end our Perspective Unit. This video is my reflection about DragonTopia.
Today I went to the EC’s Buddy class. We went on a shape hunt. We did the shape hunt outside. At the end we also took a selfie together.
One thing that went well for me today was that my buddy was good at finding shapes. Another thing that went well today was that my buddy didn’t go crazy.
One thing that was challenging today was that we had to find a lot of shapes. Another thing that was challenging today was that my buddy didn’t know a lot of English.
