Ice melts, sea level increases, this can be consider as global global warming. It is not really surprise for me at all, because what we have done to the earth is unforgivable. We ruined the environment, we used up so much electricity that make the earth getting warmer and warmer everyday. What I learned in science class was, when it reaches it’s boiling point, the ice melts, and when the weather is so hot, water expands. This lesson I can apply in real life. Since the earth is not the same as it’s used to be, the temperature increases rapidly, turning the ice into water, making the water level goes up to 1-4 mm each years, and that’s a lot. There are Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, and Southern (Antarctic) Oceans. You know how big is each ocean right? Imagine each year your place got sink down 1-4mm. And by the end, there will be no more land for we to live on and we will be extinct just like dinosaurs million of years ago. Imagine one day, when you and your family are live happily together, suddenly, there is a big giant tsunami comes by and destroys your houses and your property, you ask for help but no one can help you because they are all in the same situation. You know the reason why the wave approaches your place,( because of global warming) What will you do? will you feel regret because it was your fault and everybody that’s in your generation? Will you feel so bad, because what you have done make a bad affect on your children life? What will you do if it’s too late to make a change? Will you keep on saying why, why and why to yourself as the water takes you away? No, you wouldn’t do that because you can make a change right now. You could use less electricity, recycle things that are usable…You need to tell people that they need to help the earth from damaging everybody’s future. They need to get on action, they need to do what ever it takes to make the earth smiles. We have made so many mistakes that it’s so hard to fix, but it is not impossible. With everyone’s help, we can make a change.
I know that I’m am a little bit off the topic, but this is a really tense situation. If we ignore it and do nothing, I bet, the end shall comes soon. Good environment helps us live, if we make it bad, we should help it, because for one reason, we could not live without it. So, be nice to our mother nature, then we could live peacefully for the rest of our lives.

The effect that the oil spill and its reckless cleanup has on sea life is frightening, damning and sad. Here’s a list of deformities that Al Jazeera found in its report:
- Shrimp with tumors on their heads
- Shrimp with defects on their gills and “shells missing around their gills and head”
- Shrimp without eyes
- Shrimp with babies still attached to them
- Eyeless fish
- Fish without eye-sockets
- Fish without covers on their gills
- Fish with large pink masses hanging off their eyes and gills
- Crates of blue crabs, all of which were lacking at least one claw
- Crabs with holes in their shells
- Crabs with shells that have no spikes or claws or misshapen claws
- Crabs that are dying from within
It is a beautiful morning for B until his sister, A comes in.
A: This is unfair. Why do I have to do everything 9th graders say? I
did it because I’m being polite, why do I have to do things to make people happy?
B: You’re home. What are you mumbling?
A: Hey, go kill yourself!
B: Excuse Me?
A: I asked you to go kill yourself.
B: What on earth are you thinking?
A: You heard me, go kill yourself.
B: Are you ok? Why should I do that? I’m not insane. Are you?
A: Obviously I’m not. You are not acting polite to your sister. You have to do things that make her happy, which you are not. You have to do everything that others asked you to.
B: Yes, I have to do it, but not everything. I will do if I want to. Death is the scariest thing to me, I won’t kill myself just to make you happy. What rights do you have upon me?
A: I don’t believe you. Maybe if I ask you nicely, you will do that for me.
B: Wait, before you do that, would you mind do me a favor? Go to the nearest wall and hit your head real hard toward the wall. REAL HARD.
A: You gotta be kidding. Am I look stupid. Why would I ever do that. Have you lost your mind? Wake up bro, I’m not going to do that, just to let you know, I’m smarter than my look.
B: See!
A: See what?
B: You will not do it even I give you candies.
A: How do you know?
B: ‘Cause I will not do it even if it’s mom or dad telling me to. People can’t force you to do what they want, but you can choose either yes or no.
A: …
B: You get the point? If I ask you to kill yourself, you will deny my quest. Just like the same thing I did when you aske me that question.
A: Oh, I get it. People are not my masters. I’m the master of myself. I will do it or not if I think it’s safe and cause no damage.
B: Kind of. But I’m glad that you learn a lesson less than 1 minute.
A: Ha ha ha!!! You are funny. Once again, thanks a lot bro. You’re deserved to be called my brother.
B: Yeah, that’s right. Good for you to have an amazing brother by your side.

There is a government for every countries in the world. And the reason why government is so important because it helps the citizens with their needs. But, while I read this article, I realized that not every government value the responsibility they have toward their citizens. The government in Korail, they didn’t manage the damage they will cause because of their actions. They were selfish. All they care about was to do what satisfy their happiness.
“They lied to us,”
They lied to their citizens, ruined the image of a great ruler. Why did they lied to their citizens? Why would they do that if there are plenty of people trusting their words? If they choose to say the truth instead, there wouldn’t be any tears, horror or anger in this slum area. Everyone would feel okay to move their houses 50 feet away.
“Days after they were evicted, many families in Dhaka’s Korail slum are living out in the open without adequate food”
They are poor, and after this, they have nothing left. How could people treat others so cruelty, aren’t they have hearts at all? Aren’t they respect any of those miserable people? Why don’t they show that they care about hurting people’ feelings? What’s the point of setting a government when they can’t help but make things worse?
“The bulldozers razed the shops and, to the residents’ horror, kept on coming. Panic set in as around 100 households were demolished in amatter of minutes. Soon the air was heavy with dust and the wailing of women and children.”
This government should be take down because they destroy their citizens livelihoods but also endanger their lives, since their means of finding alternative housing is extremely limited. A bad government will lead to bad things. The best way to solve this problem is choosing a new ruler, a person that truly understand people.
“The slum dwellers have reacted with anger and dismay…”
Poverty, the first word comes to my mind. Next is hunger, poor and death. Why it is so unfair, that innocent people have to handle all the bad things, out of their ability to solve . And the rich, cruel ones, always have a chance to make poor people’s lives horrible, never give the poor ones chance to get out of their past and create a better future. I didn’t feel surprised at all about the way the slum dwellers act. They were treated badly by their government, and that’s not it. They felt for the government words. And they lost everything they have.
I sometimes wonder why people said that very one is equal, but the fact is, no. Not all of them have the human rights and being respect by others. If I could have one wish, I wish poverty will never existed in this planet, and that would be a fair play for the good and the bad.

This 21st century and people are still treating women an-fairly. I have no idea why. What’s the point of this. Are all the men happy when they have to see their mother, their wife, and their daughter handed over to the man’s family as compensation? Only look at the picture, I feel the pain. I can’t handle the thoughts that women and children in this country have to suffer all this stuff through out their entire life. I feel guilty because I could not help but looking at them, one by one being torture by those evil uncivilized people. Do they have any idea how painful it would be for the one who was selected to pay for the price? Why would they be so self-fish? If their feeling is matter, why wouldn’t they think the same way for the women. Are they not human? Aren’t they are the same kind of men?
“When Atia turned 9 years old, she was married to a son in her new family. When that man died of an illness, she was passed on to a younger brother. She spent her days scrubbing and cleaning—and being raped repeatedly by her new husband and other men in the family, with the intention of producing a child to replace the murdered family member. She was beaten if she fought back. “
How could a brother treats his sister like that? Doesn’t he feel guilty or something. That’s wrong to do such thing to the person he loves, unless he doesn’t care about his sister.
“I tried to kill myself twice,” says Atia, now 14 and still living in servitude.”
This is sad, and unbelievable. She is the same age as mine and she has 2 husbands already? This is insane. How did the revenge turn into the marriage? Wouldn’t it be horrible if you let your son marry the sisters of the person who killed one of your family member?
But that’s not I want to talk about. You can’t not force a 9 years old girl to marry a stranger. First, that’s dangerous, second, above 25 is the proper age to marry someone. She is only 9 years old, hardly even know what a marriage is. What is the purpose of doing so? What is the benefit of this whole thing?
“Wherever there are high bride prices, there are cattle raids and violence. Girls end up paying the final price for it.”
Why? Why is it always has to be girl? Why nobody in Sudan respect the female? Because they are weaker? Because they are uglier?, or because they have the power to stand all of the hard work?
“Amos Gudo, an elder chief who presides over a traditional court in an Eastern Equatoria village called Kiyala, says the practice of giving away girls must continue, as a way of solving conflicts between community members. He notes an absence of prisons in the state, inducing communities to keep relying on this tradition to resolve disputes.”
This guy is lack of knowledge. Can’t they find another way to solve the conflict? Why would it has to be giving girls away? If they don’t know how to find another way to solve the conflicts, at least, they should ask to get advice from the women. Overall, women are still part of the community.
“Not all elders agree. A woman named Alima Biaka is devastated that her 16-year-old granddaughter, Igitu Imuta, was recently forced into marriage as compensation for a so-called blood feud. Now, that grandmother has decided to fight back. She has started campaigning with the local government and nongovernmental organizations, demanding her granddaughter’s release. “She is the only daughter I have left in this world, and I am not going to lose her,” she said.”
Well. That’s right, there’s gotta be a person who stands out to show the world their opinion, what’s wrong and what’s right, what should be done or what should not. They know that. And if no one notice about their exist, they will speak out, loud enough to protect their idea and opinion.
“Much of Japan’s Pacific coast could be inundated by a tsunami more than 112 feet high if a powerful earthquake hits offshore, according to revised estimates by a government panel.”
This is scary. A tsunami more than 112 feet high! No wonder why there were lot of people that died because of earthquake in Japan. Because of the location, Japan is not the best place for foreigners to settle in. It is a wonderful place for businessmen, but totally opposite for people who want to live for a long time, especially to stay near the coasts, close to the open seas.
“Last March’s magnitude-9.0 earthquake spawned a 45-foot wave that devastated most of Japan’s northeastern coast and triggered meltdowns at a nuclear power plant…”
How terrible is that? Earthquake with 9.0 magnitude is bad enough to knock off half of Japan’s coast.
Japan is a strong country. Even though nature disasters sometimes destroy part of Japan and cause bad affects to the citizens, but the Japanese all stand up from what they have lost and re-build a new life.
“…, which devastated a long stretch of Japan’s northeastern coast and killed about 19,000 people.”
Oh my god, 19,000 people died. It is like Japan had lost a city of it’s own. I feel bad for those lives that were taken away for nothing, because they didn’t have enough time to run, to hide. Including children, old people, young people… This is really bad.
To improve things, and not let the history repeats the same way it was, it is good to predict what will happen to the people whom lived in that area. Because you will never know what’s gonna happen to your family if the earthquake and tsunami occur. You would loose everything you have. So prepare for what’s going to happen is better than when it is time and you have to deal with it.
“The tsunami knocked out power at the 40-year-old coastal nuclear plant, leading to the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl in 1986. ”
In my life, I have never imagine anything that could be worse than this. Nuclear disaster could last for more than years, and it’s adverse effect is horrible to human beings and nature. This could be considered as Japan’s dark age.
But there is a miracle in this whole story. Unlike other countries, the Japanese people, they freaked out at first, but then they calmed themselves afterward. They have been practicing for the situation. I am really admire the Japanese people. No matter how much loss they gained, they still stood up and courage others to do the same. They were a strong and united groups of Japan. They all together got out of their fear, overcame the feelings and continue to live on.
As time passed by, technology developed. To create a machine that can tell before the earthquake occurs to help the citizens to evacuate up to the high mountain is a brilliant idea. There will be no more death in this sun rise country. I truly hope that someday, when I visit Japan, I will see an amazing country fill with happiness.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for teachers to understand students feelings. The Laws of Nature states, “ There must be balance between work and rest.” Teachers never follow that law, and it is now time for everybody on this planet to know how students have been treated in school.
We, students hold these truths to be self- evident, that all human beings are created equal, that they are given rights that can not be taken away, that among these are Balance in life, Freedom, and Respect.
We have tried to share our concerns with teachers. They know they do have the power to give us homework and tests, and they should use that power properly. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our health. We are exhausted. We really need time to rest, to cool down from stress.
Teachers have used their power too much. We have been mistreated and controlled by the ones we trusted. We have tried to work things out, but they neglected our attempts. We have warned them about their mistake; they ignored us. There was no response from the teachers.
1. Give more homework than we needed to do.
2. Tremendous amount of tests in a row.
3. Overlook our advice.
4. Haunt our dreams.
When we can’t handle the pressure from homework, tests, sleeplessness and the nightmares we have, we lose our tempers and explode. We turn wild. We are going against the teachers. We will let them know that they were wrong. The war is on, and it ain’t stopping unless the teachers agree they were wrong from the start.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the United Group of Students, in NTA(No Teachers Allowed) Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of Parents around the world for the support of our independence, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Schools, solemnly publish and declare, That we ought to be Free.

Unhappiness:
Unhappiness is the prettiest girl I have ever seen. However, I think there’s something missing in her beautiful eyes, the frag eyes that contain sadness. She never smiles. Those red lips always shut closely. When you first see her, you would probably think she is going to cry.
Unhappiness is skilled at spreading the silent around. She doesn’t like to talk. She keeps what she has inside her mind. Unhappiness can cause an easy feeling in you.
It’s really surprised me that Unhappiness likes to watch “War Movies.” She says it fits her circumstance and her feeling. Her parents passed away when she was just a kid. Since then, Unhappiness had to take care of her two siblings with the help from neighbors, and her best friend, Revenge.. She has worked at many jobs to earn the living. Sometimes she just gives up because she can’t handle the pressure.
Guilt:
Surprisingly, Guilt doesn’t have numerous friends like other popular kids. Not that he’s bad, instead, he’s really nice, just that people often mistaken him for being mean. Guilt came to this world on Friday, December 13, 1992. I guess this is the reason why people stay away from him. They thinks he’s their bad omen.
Guilt is not very intelligent, but he’s courageous. He takes up classmates dare all the time. However, he can hardly controls his action. But the thing is, he never thinks before he act, which leads to irresponsible risks. “Go away!” the common phase that he had heard for a lot of times. People are afraid of playing with him because he is very convincing, and they scared they would fall for his words.
Once they felt, they were completely undercontrolled by their action, not their mind. It’s easy to tell who play with him, because at the end, everybody all have the same feeling, the guilty ones.

What would you do if you have if you have plenty of time to work and no time to rest?. Let me give you the advice. You should change your daily schedule. If you feel tired and you have no idea why you can’t get up in the morning, you are not success in balance in life. SSIS focuses on 5 Expected School wide Learning Results(ESLR). I am the most successful at balance in life because I know how to use my free time to relax and to do personal physical fitness.
I’m the most successful at Balance In Life because I divide my time evenly for work and personal development. I stay balanced between school work and exercise. I always play sports after school with my siblings. I also stay balanced between free time and work time during weekends. I use Saturdays to do my homework and visit my elders. I use Sundays to relax and work out.
Because I’m good at balance in life, all I need to do is repeat what I have done and I will get even better at it.
I am not successful with Sense of Self because I sometimes don’t understand myself. Lack of relationships is what brings me the most troubles. I don’t like to hang out with friends because I just don’t feel like it, but also because of laziness. I mostly like to play with my siblings.
I spend no time reading. I like to read, but I don’t read often. I tend to play and do other stuff. I know reading will help me to build my vocabularies and my grammar. To sum up, I have to be more active in Sense of Self.
There are many ways that I can improve in Sense of Self. I usually fail and give up afterward. I really need to over come the feeling of being a looser. For one reason, because I’m too lazy, I rarely success in doing thing. I have to train to be more of an active person.
If I can complete the goal I created for my self, I would be successful at Sense of Self.

Bully, the first image that appeared on my mind was a big kid, with power and lack of sympathetic. But that’s only what I think of that word. In real life, bully is even scarier.
13 million kids will be bullied in the U.S this year. This fact is freaking me out. Why? why would there so many kids that have tough times in life like those? If the number of victims continued to grows, will there be a way to stop it? If there are schools with bullies, why doesn’t the U.S government build a new school for students who were bullied by other kids. Whenever there are kids that upset about their life because they don’t feel comfortable to go to school, parents should move them to this school and the teachers will help to figure out the best way to help.
Another way to help is, if the parents teach the kids how to behave probably when they were young, I think when they get older, they will know how to treat others well. And if they know how to treat others well, there will not be any bullies left.
There is a movie that titled “Bully”. This movie supposed to be shown for kids with their parents permissions, but for one reason, unfortunately, it was rated “R”. The one reason, which is “Some language” stops children from aware of what’s happening around them.
“Bully” is the movie mainly for education. Good education. In my opinion, this movie should be rated PG instead of R. If bad languages are what MPAA afraid of, so it means they are running from the truth. They scared that the movie will have bad influence and impact to children. But they forgot that these words also came from children. If they show this movie publicly, kids will receive the message that the movie transfers, and they will learn from other kids mistakes from the film. They will learn a lesson.
“It’s better that children see bad language than bad behavior”, this sentence is succeed in grabbing my attention. I agree, it’s better for kids to know the right thing to do than to not know and choose the wrong answer. Showing kids movie is a great way of teaching. Instead of telling them what’s right or wrong, what should be done or what should not, parents might want to try this new unique system of teaching.
Last word, If Bully is rated PG, kids will change the way they look at thing. Overall, bully is not a bully anymore when he himself learns to treat other well, and it’s never to late to fix the mistake that had made.
