Features Article Reflection

Hi Pals and Peeps!

In my class, we were studying about the 20TH century and we got to pick a special 20TH century person/idea/invention; who made a big change to the world. We had to create a Timeline and a Feature Article about our Change Agent. My Change Agent was Buzz Aldrin and I’ve been working on a Feature Article about him. My Change Agent was a brave and courageous man that fought for positive thoughts about dangerous and amazing journeys . I found out that one of the character ( Buzz Light year) from that Movie represents for Buzz Aldrin the Great-Computer-Whiz Astronaut. So, I thought why don’t I pick him because everyone is not as independent to try out new lifetime journeys and endless amazing  adventure possibilities, and giving an example of Buzz Aldrin is a very change to their minds. After all his actions, it proves we all can be strong and courageous, even in your age. We had some Questions to answer about our 20TH century Change Agent Project.

  • What I did well :
I found good pictures to help my audience/readers to understand my writing. I organized my Paragraphs neatly (I think) so the readers won’t have trouble reading it.  I found great information about my Change Agent easily from his own-like-biography website he actually managed.
  • What I need to improve

I might need to put more pictures and make my paragraphs shorter so that I can have more space in order to place pictures on my Features Article. Maybe I need to use more than a few website for my writing.

  • How\where I collected most of my information.  What resources were helpful and reliable (trusted).  Why?

I collected and found most of my Information either from the NASA website or Buzz Aldrin‘s official web (Which I got Most of all my Info from). I think the websites I found were reliable because most of the picture and writing from there is (Most of it) from my Change Agents life and own words. And that website was the only website I need to find personal info about my Change Agent, it had many personal pictures other websites doesn’t have.

  • Time frame or timeline of writing process;
I worked on my Feature Article ‘ Final’  outside from school and outside of country. It took me few days and completed it the night before the due date of my Feature Article.
  • What was challenging

It was quite very challenging for me because I did not do it in school and I did not have a visual support for my feature article. And I wasn’t quite sure how to organize my paragraphs on my Feature Article and where to locate the picture on the paper. I did plan it out though but when I actually did it on publisher, it didn’t turn out right so I had a change of plans.

  • What was easy

What was easy for me is to find pictures because most of the important pictures are all in one website. And when we’re writing the paragraphs, it was easy because we wrote some paragraphs/sentences in our presentation so we could look there for help.

  • Purpose and audience of the article
The Purpose of this Article is to let the audience of the internet/school/world to learn more about this Change Agent so as us making it we learn something. And to let others be stunned and Amazed about this change agent and see what made the Change Agent changed the world. Some people might not even know this change agent, so they’ll find out a new Change Agent!
  • Favorite part of article
My favorite part of my Article is that I picked good photos for my Feature Article. And I liked my background color ( Only 1 though) and I didn’t choose too much color. And also my Favorite Part is that we got to even Make a Feature Article in fifth grade!
  • My  design process

First I had to choose a fit background color for my page before I do anything else. Than I place my title at the top before I run out of space for my title. Every-time I finish adding a paragraph I would stick a picture beside it. At the end I just stick a caption next to my photo’s so the audience will know what image it is.

Change Agent Reflection

Change Agent Reflection

We had a Change Agent project and presentation for the 20TH century. Change Agents are things that changed the course of history, Change Agent can be People, Events, Invention, Idea or a Belief. My change agent is Buzz Aldrin. Not much people have heard of him but he is the second man to step on moon. I used a Prezi to create my presentation. Buzz Aldrin is a Change agent because he changed what people think and inspiration of Music, Art, movies and Self Belief, to believe in themselves more and take risks that are worth a lifetime chance.

What did you do well on this project?

  • I found useful and good information about my C.A(Change Agent) and I found good source for my C.A. I didn’t get bored of my C.A and I pretty much is happy with my C.A. I didn’t need to change it. I arranged it neat and nicely.

What did you learn from doing this project?

  • I found good websites and source to use. I found out that my change agent did SO many amazing things and what a incredible and brilliant person he is. I found out a new way to present using a, Prezi! I Found out that his change effected me too!

If you were to do this project again, what would you do differently?

  • Maybe I could try using another way of presenting and I might do something special such as bring a model in like a rocket ship or something fun. I might add more of my Change Agent video(s).

Presentation Reflection

What did you do well during your presentation? What are you most proud of?

  • I looked at the audience and I didn’t need to look back at my words on the screen, I could just say what I will say, I remembered what I was going to say .  I spoke loud and clear. Some part I caught my Audience Attention of my Presentation. ( And I found out that if presenter read from A-Z of their timeline on presentation, it will make audience yawn and not pay attention. I didn’t read through all the way of my timeline)

What could you have done to improve your presentation? What will you do differently for your next presentation?

  • I would not want a coconut party during the same time as my presentation because audience are drinking coconut and sometimes watching ( but they were mostly drinking coconut). I could improve by attracting audience most of the time if another ” Coconut Party”  occur, I will add something more attracting than drinking a coconut. Maybe I could make my words more bolder or larger so audience could see.

How did watching the video of your presentation help you?

  • I found out that some people were drinking coconut and not watching my presentation. I saw that I caught some audience’s attention in my presentation. I found out that some audience were paying attention to some interesting part of my timeline that weren’t really part of the change but they think it’s interesting. I really liked my presentation. (Except for the coconut party part)
