The Future Glasses

People nowadays are thinking that Apple best, the Iphone is better than the Nexus One or just comparing phones to phones. At first I agreed, for one reason because all my friends have it and I don’t have one and also I think Apple company had went a long way since Steve Jobs were there and they had made a lot of cool and useful things. But after seeing this video and reading this article, my point of view had changed completely. At first I saw the product I was really amazed, the model was nothing I had seen before, you wear like it is your normal glasses, even though you would look kind of silly and weird in it but it still looked like something from the future. The I watched the video, and was more amazed, things are pooping out in front of your eyes, you can see the weather update when you look at the sky, find your way around the bookstore and also taking a picture with your own eyes. Here are some of things that really shocked me the most about the features of this product.
First of all, they way how you can take a picture with your own eyes is incredible. Usually, you would have problem holding a camera or your phone because your hands would shake and the result might be making the picture blurred or not clear. But with this feature, you can now take picture of right what you are seeing, this to me is amazingly portable because sometimes when you see something that could make a nice picture, you would sometimes not have your camera or phone with you, you will always want to bring the Smart Glasses with you and at the same times, take a picture with it. Second, the voice recognition of this product is also flat out amazing. In the video, the actor would say something the reminds the glasses to remind him later, this is like Siri but on a Google product.
There is one connection I want to make about this glasses. In the Disney Pixar Movie Wall-E, Earth is covered with trash human are moved up to a huge ship in space. They uses his technology to make life easier for them, and it is similar to this product. They also uses screens that ops out of their heads and every time they want to talk to a friend, all you do is just turn on your camera and just talk, it is like real life because the sounds are so clear and the video is so real. But the problem is they are overweight, everything they do they rely on the product. This might happen to our world, if we keep relying on technology.

Shooting in Ohio High School Result to 3 Students Dead.

I have read many articles that are related to this one, where there was public shooting or a robbery. Eventhough there are a lot of article similar to this, this particular one was special and really grabbed me because of the title. At first I thought that it would be a normal shooting at a school and a lot of people would get hurt or killed, I don’t tend to be comfortable reading them because I feel very sorry to the people that died when they are completely innocent. As this was of the choices for AOW, I kept reading and found out that the shooter was actually one of the students. I almost jumped out of my sit in shock because, I had never read anything about any student killing other students. My first image of this boy Lane is completely out of his mind. Who would go to school armed with weapons? I think he is obsessed with video games because these days people are making too many blood and violence video games like Call of Duty and other First Person Shooting game. Then I kept reading and another fact shocked me, the victims are just random. He did not object or target anyone. Lane just came in the cafeteria and started shooting at random students.
There are variety of things in this article that had made me think and connect to what I have read in other articles are these. I had noticed that after the shooting, the police had captured Lane, they said Lane is still in “detention”. “Lane’s grandfather and two aunts sat beside him in court. Joyce asked that Lane be kept in detention” said the writer. He should be locked up right now according to his age and his actions. Not be there adored by the family members. A few years ago, my dad had read me an article of a 18 years old mad at a friend fall going out the his crush. He then brought a AK-47 to school ordering the guys to line up, and the girl to line up. He started shooting and killing everyone one by one. Police was not there quick enough to save the last person. He killed almost 50 students and injured 20 people including the teachers and staffs. I’ve read that Lane is also bullied at school. This is a huge point because now there would be anger going on in this article. A student in his grade tried to help him, posting this on Facebook. ”I wanted so bad to try and help you but i could see in your eyes you didn’t care anymore. I’m sorry buddy,” said his friend. I think he tried and made a good attempt to stop his anger, but Lane is just seriously hurt inside.
I’ve read the article over and over again asking myself, is there another reason why he had open fire. After all the reading, I had came to the conclusion that he is not a bad guy. When you are bullied, you tend to do things you would never think of doing. Killing 3 people was never tend to be in his mind, he was just too hurt and his emotions had lead him to murder of 3 innocent people. I’ve learned now that when you choose the wrong choice of solving a problem, the result will cause you your life, or even 15-20 years in jail.

Thailand Suffering from Terrifying Floods

Flooding happens everywhere around the world, it had happened once in Vietnam that almost killed 100 people, and had destroyed thousands of houses. But this article about Thailand was so popular and worldwide, that means this is a big problem. First on the news I thought this was just a small and easily fixed problem, but after reading this article, I was suprised of what only a flood could lead to more serious problems.
This flood was caused by just over years of raining down to the city, they have had a little flood before, and fixing it by building a dam between the mountains and the city. Over time rain comes more and more ending up the amount of flood is begining to get more and more serious. This flood had killed 400 people, and now the citizen can’t use there everyday transportation anymore, they have to use canals. The officals also said the water was also polluted which leads to bad environment that can cause sickness to the people that is affected by the flood. I was surprised that people can still have the courage to still go to work and don’t want to stop working because of the money. I would highly encourage them to stay home and indoors. The government had already make up a plan of how to remove the flood but the choices has the good and bad to it. First they will have 42 days if the let the water to the 3 rivers but the problem is they will have the flood go to Bangkok which will flood there capital. Second choice is take 50 days and let it flow to the ocean but it will take more time.
Something I noticed about this article was they didn’t talk about how the system of the rescue worked, did it follow my city or wealth? This is something I wanted to know. From this article, I also learned three things. First I didn’t know that Thailand was such a hardworking country and would risk anything to save there jobs. The flood was coming in fast and they are still opening there and the police tried to stop them but failed. Second was I didn’t know that flood are caused by just rain gaining because of the dam of the countryside. The third and last thing that I learned was water was incredibly heavy and could kill almost 500 people, evernthought water was just liquid and crazily soft, it could kill you.
I thought the article was clear and the situation was very clear to me now because I read two article of the flood. I’m looking forward to the solution of this problem.

Second Quarter Goal

My goal for this quarter is to spend at least 30 minutes on my Algebra homework also doing nothing but do my homework, i usually listen to music doesn’t get any of my work done because I’m always moving to the beat and sometimes i couldn’t stand it and just stand up and dance.
I think how I work toward is starting to listen to less music and focus a hundred percent on my work for a short period of time, take a break then work on it again. You can break your works into small piece. I take Math tutor. I do well with sitting in a chair properly and nothing but my work in front of me and just working for 15 minutes and rest for 5 minutes then 15 more minutes. The struggle about this goal is the space might not be the appropriate to do 15 minutes of full concentration. Also noises makes me think of other things, so IZ think that would be a problem. I think when I know I’ve reached my goal is when I get positive comments from my teachers and my grade are going up constantly, this proves that I had made progress in my work.
What does Positive Collaboration look like to you?

Positive Collaboration to me are a lot of things, it is inside of class and also outside of class. First of all it is getting ready for class, by that I mean you have to get all your equipment ready like doing your homework, getting your pencils and pen to write with, a calculator. Also you can’t just do your homework with a short period of time, you have to spend at least 30 minutes on your homework. Also if you don’t know a problem, do not leave it blank, try to write something on it. Second, you need to be an active listener and also ask a lot of questions. You can’t have help if you ask for it. Finally, you need to be ready for the next unit, make sure you are clear on the last unit and have understood everything.
Different Skin Tones Are Okay!

This week’s AOW reminds me a lot of Micheal Jackson because long time ago when racism was still a big problem, he looked around seeing all the light and white colored people getting more respect from people and still now, most of the white kids go to colleage and the darker one getting less care so he turned himself into a light colored skin tone person and now regretting because now he needs medicine and lotion to care for his skin. Some of the Indians has religion of there skins like putting on jewery representing there richness but is confusing to me that they don’t have a religion of there skin color, i had seen Martin Luther King Jr made a speech about skin color.
Some of the things I noticed about the article was she had made a lot of connections with different things,things that nearly cannot be connected and she made it so it is possible to connect with. Another thing I also noticed was she made connections with different locations and I thought this was a good idea because if you know what are happening with other countries, you could compare and make it better or if its already worked out, you could improve it in the future.After I read this article I 
learned a lot things but these are my top three. First I learned that skin tone are nothing to joke about, we are all the same in the inside, no matter if we are black, white, we are all humans and you should be proud of who you are. Second I learned that believe in yourself ,sometimes you listen to others when they are wrong, sometimes you’re right and changes your mind when you see people agreeing on the wrong thing. Third I learned that you shouldn’t judge people when you don’t know who they are, if you can, judge them with a positive thoughts.

- We decided how many characters will be in this comic and making the names for the different characters
- Then we we wrote the script, we brainstormed together of how the plot is going to be like, then writing the script of what the characters would say
- Not everyone worked on the script, we had 4 people in our group, 2 people worked on the script, 2 people got started on the comics
- After we finished out 1st draft on the script, everyone took a look at the script and revised it
- After it was good, we divided parts of the script and made our cartoons
- After everyone is finished with there cartoon, we mailed it to one person and they would take a look at every one’s
- After it was finished we Photoshop it into one.
WWW Writing Reflection

My most memorable moment of this year’s WWW are two moments, the night hike, working with the orphans and the morning hike. These are the most memorable moments because on the morning hike i can talk to my friends, getting to know them better and also enjoy the great view of the mountains, also i can see the Thai people in there homes and what they do and sell for a living. I liked the night hike because the purpose of the night hike was to be quiet and let y
our mind free and rest, it was comfortable without any sounds because in my mind i can think of a song to hum to and its just really cool to sit down and stare at the outline of the mountains from the rice field. The last thing, working with the orphans was such a surprise to me because before i thought there art skills was so low, but when i came, i was so amazed by there cutting, sketching and painting skills because they cut more accurate than i do, sketch better knows how to use the paint and there piece was so neat. Next was the English lesson and they knew more words than I expected, they had a lot fun from the games we gave them and i think it was a exsperience form me to be a teacher and organizing the classroom, it wasn’t but it was worth it.
I learned about myself that if I am just sitting alone and hearing the wind blowing and nothing else, i can be really comfortable and i think that’s how i get rid of stress, And also i have time to reflect on my day and is just a moment to have a chance to re think things. I think the one thing i learned about most of my friends is they are funny and always trying to help., Even though some of the friends are not really close to me, they were willing to help when i needed a favor. The thing i learned about the world is if the view of the place looks good at the morning, it will look twice as good in the evening. And also another thing i learned was the people in Mai Chau loved what they were doing and loved there job, I think that’s why they continued what they are doing, you gotta love what you do to be successful at it.
Before i didn’t understand how Thai people live in there conditions and the hard work they had to do, but now i understand that if you live in an condition for a long time, you would get used to the hard work and waking up 5 o’clock at the morning and having to feed the buffalo and so on.

In our script, we used different kinds of CCs and each have htere own meanings:
- Share Alike: People can use without any permission
- No- Derives : The product must have a permission and has to have the original
- Attribution: The product needs to be notified for the owner of the original
- Non- Commercial: It is not suppose to be shown in any commercial
We had used these CCs because we thought these were the most simple yet important.
AOW Daniel T Sept 19-23

This article reminds me of a newspaper article i read about 2 weeks ago about the people disagreeing to shut the schools down for 2 months just because they are fixing the electrics. While i was reading this article, there were some things that i haven’t known before was, this kind of problem could be brought to a bigger audience like the government and also the people around the country. On my opinion, this could be brought up is because enough people had seen this article and was curious ,even though these students are migrants students, even though there are poor, they should be treated like with the same respect as the other higher and richer students, they are all Chinese and they are also welcome to this society and they need to have the right to study like the rich and they need this education to have a better future in there life. However, when I was reading this article,something i wanted to learn and find out more about was did they ever fixed this problem? On this last sentence of the article “China’s rulers should realise now that it is in their long-term interests to listen.”Even though it said the gorverment have had an eye on this problem, are they acting and willing to help these workers and students. If they don’t some of them will end up incredibly poor and some might not even have shelters to live in. This problem could cause people to live in the streets. If they do fix this, they could make China better than it is now. Anyhow, the last fact i wanted to say was what i have learned. After reading and discussing my opinions, i know why the government wasn’t really playing attention this problem, they had country to handle and they thought this kind of education problem can be handled later, but turned out leaving the problem would cause so many harm to the people, so what i have learned is no matter what kind of problem it is, big or small, you should try to solve it before its too late.
