Many people think that money can brings you happiness. The evidence that proves this is “Shopping”. People think that shopping can really helps you gain happiness. My question is, does it?

Black Friday, 152 million people went crowds to shop, gained 14 million people more than in 2010. The shop was already crowned in the early morning. People were trying to find the perfect gifts for a perfect cost. “Research shows that Americans’ spending has increased over the past few decades as people literally try to buy happiness. Unsurprisingly, it’s not working.”

“ “[Shopping] is like a drug,” says James Roberts, a marketing professor at Baylor University. “Our brains releases chemicals like dopamine and serotonin which actually produce feelings of pleasure, and we can become addicted to those feelings. But money and material possessions will not bring you happiness, and not only that, they can cause more harm than good.” “

I was surprised because I never realize that shopping makes our brain to releases chemicals like dopamine and serotonin, which produce the feelings of pleasure, and we can be addicted to those feeling. Wow! That sounds a bit scary.

So I think that the conclusion here is money can’t buy you happiness. You can still earn the happiness in another way. Try to imagine the people who are not able to afford the money for shopping. Why do they still have a happy, joyfulness life? There must be some other way to gain happiness in your life other than to shopping. Think about your family, why don’t you spend time for a vacation with your family other than to go shopping in a fancy mall that costs a lot of money. I think this idea might helps the people who are addicted to shopping, spend time with your family, do something meaningful. Use money wisely, don’t waste it.

The best part about your post was the last paragraph. There were a lot of strong thoughts in it. You specificaly had thoughts regarding the poor which I really like. I think you should include more of your thoughts to make it better

Ronald, you’ve shown your thoughts well in the post and it had your voices in it. However, I suggest you to have more thinking going on, not just conclude. Even though it’s got some thoughts in, but somethings seems to be missing. Other things are pretty neat, and I found it really immature of you to say about your surprised thoughts about our brain’s chemical release. :)

I liked how you asked your self important question. Also, I enjoyed reading your respond to the quote, but don’t you think the quote is too long? moreover, I really liked how you summarized your point at the end. nice job.
