In my opinion, you have to be able to control what you are doing to be a good self-monitor. For example, I always set goals that I’ll accomplish a certain amount of work within a certain amount of time, nothing longer. It really helps me, especially for studying, because I always know what I should be doing, and not fooling around or chat with other friends online. However, it’s challenging. Sometimes, when I was really interested in something, and at the same time, I expected myself to finish other works, which, I had force myself to do what I really should be doing.
