Stress Levels

What did you do to get ready for a test:

This week I have a Math test, I studied hard until late at night but when I wake up, the things I learn from last night started to disappear and when I get to school I start cramming. And while taking it, my heart was beating so fast. I was able to understand some questions but was still blur with word problems. Today, I had math, and he handed the test back without correcting anything, and he said that we are suppose to correct it, so while we review the answers, I was upset because my test score was really low. So the studying I did was a waste of time.

What is it you wish you have done differently:

I wish I could calm myself down before the math test because I guess I was really stressed and worried about it that all the things I study just go BOOM. Now I have a science test coming along and I’m trying hard to relax but it isn’t going well. I don’t know how I’ll do but I hope things go well!

What you want to do next semester:

Although next semester I’m not gonna be here I will still try my best to relax my mind when preparing for a test week! I hope things will go well in my next school year! :)

IT: Scratch

Recently in IT we have worked on a program called scratch. It’s pretty basic for me to interact with it but for some new starters, it might be hard for them. When I first used Scratch, I was having troubles with it so I had to tell my friends for help, I still am a little confuse using it since it has been a long time, but in the process on producing my game, I was finally getting the sense on using it and was able to finish the game smoothly. Although the game is not the very best, I hope people will enjoy playing it :)

Slavery Foot Print

This is not an article of the week but it’s a survey of the week [: The website  is pretty interesting, like I said, it’s a survey and it asks countless of questions that doesn’t bore you. The graphics was interesting and eye catching so answering the question might amused you bust as you’re finishing your question, your score on how many slave work for you will shock you. Believe me, I was really surprised at the amount of people working for me but yet so shamed of myself :( I have some cleaning to do…

While I was close to finishing answering the question, I was, surprisingly, curious about the scores. And like I said, I was shocked yet shamed at sum of people working for me. So the total amount of people who work for me was 39. Yes, that much people. For me, it was really embarrassing announcing it because the number of slaves compared to every one who’s taken the survey, I was the highest. Everyone had an average of 25 slaves while I had 39.  If I had that much people in reality working for me then my apartment would be contracted.  I was confused in why they ask this questions for example like what sports do you usually do and do you usually use your gadgets, I was clueless at first but then I slowly understood why they are asking this sort of question by reading facts they wrote at the bottom.

I would recommend this survey to everyone, it’s not a boring survey you usually take during class, since it’s eye catching, answering each questions won’t make you close the tab :) I will surely hope the number of slaves working for you is lower than mine. If you’re suppose to share it to your classmates or teachers the score, then I will bet that you will be embarrassed declaring it :)

“How best does a student self monitor”

A student can self monitor by taking neat notes, if the students take neat notes, then the notes will be understandable.  If taking neat notes and studying is their habits then there will be a high chance for the student to get high grades. They will stay on task that will reach their goals and they can identify areas that need improvement and they can compare their previous scores and standard scores easily.  Usually the best student who monitor themselves review what they are troubling with and ask questions and that is what it leads to a high score.  I think the most important characteristic would be the habits of a person, because if the person is used to reviewing notes and studying than their grades are mostly an A+s or B+s.

Why Parents Lie to Let Kids Join Facebook

By: Thos Ballantyne

While scanning through this article, I was a bit shamed because I, myself, join Facebook when I was 12.  But now I’m 13, so I’m legal to use Facebook but I still regret joining Facebook at such a young age.

7.5 million under-aged kids is a lot,  But how do they found out that there were 7.5 million kids? Since the kids lie about their age, won’t it be hard for us to detect what their true age is? I was not shock about the kids being  harassed on the site. Since their kids, of course they would not get use to the mean comments from their friends, so they would eventually get scared. I know I have do the wrong thing for joining Facebook at a young age, but if I knew I couldn’t join Facebook at the age of 12, then I wouldn’t sign up. And hearing parents assisting their kids to join Facebook is just not right. Why would they assist their kids to join Facebook? Does it make them smarter? Do they think it will make them smarter? or did they just make it for fun? If I was the parent I wouldn’t let my kids join Facebook because like what it said, it can hurt our child and will think low of themselves and growing up, would be hard for them to endure all the hate from their friends.

Native Foster Care: Lost Children, Shattered Families

By:Nasim Fekrat

This week’s article change my thoughts on the Native Americans. The article and the video has a big difference. While watching the video (Why the natives should get the black hills back), my impression on the Americans was bad, but then I come across this article and my perspective on the Natives was a complete turn around.

My jaw dropped when it says that about 700 native kids are being sent to foster care. Isn’t it too much? I was also a little mad, because the school motto was“Kill the Indian, Save the Man.” The school seems to be an anti-Native. I know some Natives Americans are an alcoholic and not treating their kids vigorously, but isn’t the motto too stingy?

I was a little burden when the leader said that taking the kids from us is kidnapping.  Since they see it as kidnapping, what would they say if the child was whipped? Would they see it as coaching the child? I think he’s thinking the same thoughts as us (non-native) but since he’s the council member and is important to the tribe, he must do his job. His heart is with us, but his mind struggles to take the right path.  I know the parents want the best for their kids (like mine :D ). And even if the kids can’t think properly and don’t know which path to take, I think they also want the best from themselves and want to get out of their past and stay on the happy side.

Are you “satisfied” with your unit 3 test results?

By: iJammin

I was quite pleased with my test score. But at the same time bummed out. My test score was higher than my last test score, but it only went up to about half  of what I got last score. I was hoping for a higher grade, higher than my current test score and when receiving the test back and finding the score to low of what I’m expecting, was disappointing. I thought I would be in the “improving” group but it turns out that I’m the one that is in “Stayed the same” group.  So the answer to the question would be no, I’m not satisfied with my unit 3 test score. :(

Unit 3 Test:If I could go back in time, what is one thing I would do differently to prepare?

If my grade on the test was bad than that means I didn’t do well on the practice session before the test.  I would have practiced more but if I did practice more, than it will stress me out so instead of practicing individually, I would do it with a friend that is in Algebra class because he/she has experience in how to do this sort of problems and it will be easier for them to demonstrate the problem for me. But not only I’m asking my friend from algebra 1 class :) I will also ask my classmates in Math class. Because I trust them :) I think asking my classmates in math than my friend in algebra is more beneficial because we’re learning the same thing and it’s easy for me to explain what i’m having troubles on. Actually I should just ask Mr.E :) He knows everything :)

I would review my homework that was assigned for me in the past. I would also review my notebook even though it’s messy. I would look up the dictionary if the word problems contain dangerously hard work for me to not understand the sentence.

We had to do a face project by using Photoshop. For me, it was hard for me to catch up with my other classmates because they are all ahead of me. It was also hard for me to use the Photoshop. I need my friends to help me on how to cut the picture and how to paste the pictures inside a box. But it was fun :)  I saw many of my friends video and it was really cool :) I hope you like my video too and find it cool too :D I hope you enjoy watching it :) Thank you!
