1. What was the question you were trying to answer?
If I put vinegar and baking soda together, will a balloon inflate?
2. What were your result?
My result was when I add baking soda and vinegar create an Acid-Base reaction. The two chemicals work together to create a gas (carbon dioxide) and the gas fills in the balloon to create it to inflate but the effect only last for three minutes.
3. How were they the same and different from your prediction?
I predicted that if you put to much baking soda the balloon will pop, and when I put 3 tablespoons rather than 1 tablespoon my balloon exploded. And I predict that the waterballoon won’t inflate as much becuase it’s smaller. But the smaller the better, so it won’t explode and make a big mess.
4. What Did you learn?
The baking soda and vinegar create an Acid-Base reaction. The two chemicals work together to create a gas (carbon dioxide)
Gas needs a lot of room to spread out and the carbon dioxide starts to fill the bottle, and then moves into the balloon to inflate it.
5. Why is it important for students to do science project.
I think it’s important becuase they learn to be independant, and whatever the students learn they will have to combine all they learned into one experiment. They will have experience with presenting in front of a audience. And they learn how to use technoligies or something new for there experiment. They will know how to handle feedback so in the future they know how to take criticsim and rejection. And always be confident in theirself and their experiment.
