Hi Na Young (:
I agree with the most part of your post, I just wanted to ask you what you wrote towards the end of your post. Why do you think that having a high stress level now won't give you stress in the future? It's not that I disagree with what you wrote, I'm just wondering (: Thankyou! c:

Hello~~~ I can really feel the harsh conditions that slaves had to suffer in the ship. Also I really love how you repeated the words like 'freedom, freedom, freedom' or 'rescue, rescue, rescue'. From this repetition, I can vividly imagine slaves silently yelling for help. For spacing, I think it would've been better if you gave a space in the first stanza after 'All chained up' and start a new stanza:))) I like your picture shouting out for 'FREEDOM'!!!

Na Young,
I like your found poem. I can understand how it's about life on deck, and the suffering the slave went through. I especially liked the end of your poem where you used the repetition of those two words: rescue and freedom-- it was very catchy. However I don't see how your title "I Cannot be Fired. Slaves Have to be Sold" has a connection to your story? Plus your title seems like it's coming from the perspective of a white person/American where as your story is from the point of view of a black slave, so, it doesn't exactly match up for me.
Altogether, nice job.

Yo Nayoung!
I really like how you ended your poem with 'Freedom, freedom, and freedom'. It is a great ending, it tells the audience how much the slaves wanted freedom during that period of time (when on boat). I love your first stanza because it is really detailed and I could feel that captured feeling. Every time I read it, I feel like I'm the slave and I can't breathe with the slave.
Good job with the details and explanation!

I can already tell from your writing that you really enjoy Facebook because you are trying to say that it's not Facebook's responsibility. I love how you used specific information from the site that you read about and you linked the article to your writing! However, is it really kids' fault that they don't tell to their parents about it and get harassed on Facebook? These children are too young to decide whether joining Facebook is a right thing to do. Also they don't have an ability to decide whether they should tell to their parents about it. I think Facebook should find a way to stop the young kids to join in to Facebook.

I find your view of positive collaboration interesting as you have compared it to friendship which is something I wasn't aware of before reading your post. I think you have shown a good example of what positive collaboration looks like and I totally agree with you about listening to other people's opinions as every opinion counts. You have included a picture too and it's great !

Good job Na Young ! :)

Na Young,

For starters, you've chosen some great projects to include in your blog. I think the Shipping project shows good understanding for surface area and volume. You showed a lot of dedication by sticking with your "multi-step equation" for doing it so many times. Your unwillingness to give up shows determination and I'm so proud of you for staying with it till you got it right. Good job! Finally, your data and statistics project is good, because you showed a good understanding of mean and median. Many of adults do not understand this!

Now for some constructive, friendly criticism. I accept your picture of the container from the Product shipment, but I think you need to improve your use of media for the multi-step equation and the powerpoint. What do you want to remember some snapshot of you doing the equation or to hear yourself and watch yourself work through every step in the process? I think a video would show more. I have volunteered to upload videos to you tube if you want, or you may do it to your own account if you have it.

Finally, I think you should upload the whole powerpoint on data and statistics. I think if you take a snippet of the title slide, you are never going to know the full story of what the other slides said and hence, what you learned. I can upload your slideshow (or you can do it) to slideshare.

You want to remember the whole package on projects. In the case of a photo, that is enough, but you have some dynamite media to include in your blog. Why don't you?

Na Young,

I like the sketches that you chose to include. Looks like that you have the makings of an amateur biologist! I think the water quality testing took a lot of time but it was an interesting exercise in how to find whether water is healthy or not.

This was my first time doing the "International Boiling Point Project" but I think that it was to "compete" with other schools. I was surprised at how difficult it was to collect such a small amount of water. What a great engineering project that teaches one to learn about heat!

Your research on liquids using the scientific method was fantastic! I think you really put your research skills to the test. It's really been a pleasure to get to know you over the years and I wish you best of luck in grade 8!
