Apple’s Workers

From reading the article, audits had discovered some ugly facts about companies. “In Chinese partners, Apple’s investigations found issues with payment of workers, benefits for workers and environmental practices. Some suppliers were found dumping waste-water at a farm near the plant, using unsafe machinery, forging payroll records and even administering pregnancy tests to some workers.” I’m shocked about this, because before I thought Apple was one of the most trust-able and reliable company but this just overpowered my thinking. Also, there are workers who are underage I thought it was illegal for workers to be under the age limit to work. The amount of people overworking was much larger than I thought. Indeed, I’m really shock that there are more than 50% of workers are working hours limits of 60.

Furthermore, I think the article was a little bit confusing and hard to understand for me. I had to look up a lot of words because the vocabulary was difficult to understand. Some parts were really confusing for me. I think the article would be more interesting for me if I actually understand what’s going on. In class when we watch a video about children being force to be slaves, I think how the video and the article relates is about being ignored and having no rights at all.
